It was a pretty exciting taxi ride from the airport up the winding streets to this hotel in the old Alfama district. Once you walk through the doors you are welcomed and have a great place to recover from jetlag and explore. The breakfast was wonderful with those tasty pastries, and the staff was helpful.

Located just beneath the castle, the hotel offers romantic views over the old city and, if you hapen to have a room with one of the wonderful terraces, you'll get the sights and (distant) sounds of this great city.
