This is what I experienced.. Arrived, no-one on the check in desk. Hunted around to find someone. Room 12 sparse, noisy, Windows do not shut properly to block out noise, light in the room set to stadium brightness, toilet almost in the sink, handy if you require both at the same time.. We had an overnight stop in Ypres. Hotel very comfortable, staff very friendly. Great breakfast. Position of hotel excellent for Menin Gate and touring around Ypres and Battlefields. Very good value for money.

I had an excellent stay quite some time ago, and with the new owners and renovations it sounds like it would be even better now! The friendly, helpful service and great breakfast (huge hot chocolate and loads of yummy food, in an elegant restaurant overlooking the square) made this hotel stick out in my memory. This was a nice hotel, right on the Grand Place. It had a really good bar, and the rooms were pretty quiet. English spoken, and a private garage for the car just a few minutes walk away. 200 yards from the Menin Gate
