We booked this hotel as the other hotels we normally stay in in Brugge were booked because of a public holiday. The hotel is very pretty and authentically old which is what we wanted as we had friends from USA with us where nothing is more than 100 years old. I booked a parking space with the hotel in the... Location, location, location. Close to everything, a hop skip and jump from the canals. The staff are friendly and helpful. And a historic building that dates from the 16th century. Makes the Bruges visit a pleasure. Breakfast is nice and plentiful with lots of choices. Loved the hotel with its unique homey historic feel.

Spent 3 nights in this period hotel. Had room 18 on second floor (very small) with very sloping eaves, which made sitting up in bed difficult. Wifi very hit and miss in bedrooms but fine in bar. NO English speaking channels, not even BBC World. However hotel centrally located amongst everything you would want for a break in this beautiful... More

We booked a Knight's room for our 5 night stay in this wonderful city at the end of April but were delighted to be given a suite in the stable section which was probably the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. With its helpful staff, excellent breakfasts and central location plus its old world charm the Jan Bito... More

We found out from one of the art galleries that this is one of the last few privately owned hotels in the city. And it is lovely. Beautifully appointed, very period, extremely comfortable beds. Lovely gardens and HUGE rooms and bathrooms. It is everything you would want in a period hotel. The breakfast was absolutely lovely and had a full... More

Spent 2 nights here with 2 friends in one of the duplex "family rooms" - king size bed when you walk in, with a treacherous staircase up to a loft with 2 twin size beds. Great air circulation, TVs (2), but wifi very spotty in room - mostly used wifi access in lobby and breakfast room. Breakfast might be the... More

I was disappointed in this hotel. They gave us a really depressing room in the annex. Thankfully we were hardly there. Everything about Bruges is so beautiful and charming. The highlight of our trip was finding a superb restaurant, Spinola! It was unbeliveably delicious, fresh and fine food. The hotel is in a good location, away from tourist commotion, yet... More

My partner and I stayed here for two nights in one of the Knights room at the end of April 2013. We were both pleased with the warm welcome we received and, initially, pleased with our room. However, much to our disappointment, the seal on the bath tub was missing in part and there was a lot of black mould... More

Wife, son/daughter (college aged) and I spent two nights in mid-April in a family room (sleeps 4) and enjoyed a very enjoyable stay. Service upon check in was prompt and polite; hostess gave us tips on local eats and sights, including canal rides, museums, shops. Room size was ample; queen size bed in the main room and a loft with... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Jan Brito but the hotel definitely isn't 4 star as rated. The common areas are a little rundown and they seem to be understaffed. There was only one person at the front desk who was also the person to show you to your room. All of the keys are just behind the front desk... More
