Very very shabby. Central, great location, but dirty and tatty and overpriced. Shower didn’t work and there were signs saying things like “don’t throw rubbish out of the window”. It was very expensive compared to other places.

This hostel was well worth the budget price. Being located right in the Red Light District makes most of Amsterdam super accessible. There’s a bar on the main floor with indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms and showers seemed pretty clean. Only main issue was that wifi did not really reach up to the top floor.

Our room was barely cleaned, sheets stained, only 3 plug sockets in an 8 man room. Showers were awful with nowhere to put clothes. My debit card was cloned by hotel reception and used fraudulently. Do not go here.

Terrible. 2 coat hangers between 5 people, 0 hooks anywhere even in the bathroom, not even a hand towel provided. Bathroom floods as it’s just a shower head next to a toilet, and of course there’s not a mat in sight. Literally beds dropped in a room with nothing else provided. Also got 3 single beds and 1 bunk bed when advertised as 5 singles. Lessons learned, gold ring stolen by staff, wouldn’t stay again

This was my first time staying at a hostel and I have to say the experience wasn't as bad as I expected. We were a group of 5 so we rented a whole room to ourselves with a private bathroom. Everything was simple but exactly what you would expect for the price. My only (but very important) complaint was that the bathroom shower drain was not working well enough. We were 5 people and it could not take this many showers. By the time the third person was talking a shower the entire bathroom was already completely flooded. On the last day, it flooded so bad that the water poured out to the room and everything that was on the floor got wet. I also wish we had the option to leave our bags at a locker or something after checkout, this really got in the way of our plans.

This is a hostel! For a hostel this is decent. We stayed in an 8 person private room, but shared a bathroom with the floor. The room had some lockers in it, all bunk beds, and two small tables. One COMPLIANT is that the room next to us kept harassing us (and we had to share the bathroom with them!!) We had mostly girls in the room with a few guys. I think the guys next door thought we were all girls. We felt very unsafe. During the day they would aggressively knock and make up some name to ask if someone was in the room - probably to just get us to open the door. Then our last night there, while we were all asleep they knocked on our door several times from 4-5am. They were very drunk / un sober and loud in the hallway. This was scary and we couldn’t open the door to ask for the staffs help. Maybe it would be more helpful if the staff monitored the hallways some how??? No one should be knocking on the wrong doors especially late at night. The hostel itself was good for a hostel, but the people that stay there seem trashy and disrespectful. I wouldn’t recommend a group of only females staying here.

First of all, I avoid hostels at any cost, that is the reason I exclude hostels from my searches in booking sites. This was listed (masked?) as hotel in google and here (just now I check in booking . com they list it under the name HOSTEL The Globe , this is outrageous and confusing, they should decide is it a hotel or a hostel, cause by all means different guests stay in hotels and different prefer the hostels! Anyway, since Amsterdam center is notorious for lack of rooms and high prices, cause it's high season all year long, I was happy I got a last minute room as this was a sudden trip. Price was ridiculously high at €120 for two persons a night for the room I got!!!! Receptionist gave directions to go outside, to the right, find a door, and go upstairs, (3 floors with no elevator) to find my room, I saw the only door outside was closed so i went and ask again, "you mean the second door to the right? to the next building? with few stairs?" He replied "yes", so we went and climb some extremely hard, steep staircase , and ended up in someones ..living room !!!!!!! Obviously by "outside" he mean a door next to the reception INSIDE the building which he show on my third try! The room was awful, two beds and a bunk with two more beds, all I can say is that I have seen bigger beds in ship's cabins. There was no TV, no closet or anything to hang the clothes, not even a plain hanger, I had to put my clothes in the bunks, no towels(!!!!!!!) only after I went up and down the stairs and ask for towels I got two, one for each guest, no functional window, the small "window' on the wall was hardly opening few centimeters so there was no air inside the room, facing to another wall in short distance less than a meter, in a closed skylight, without curtain. Nothing that even remotely resembles a hotel room which was what I paid for, at €240 for 2 nights. We were so frustrated that we had to leave earlier, the only good thing is that we got refund for the second night! I don't know maybe for a hostel is excellent, but i went to "HOTEL the globe" not "HOSTEL the Globe" so I have to review it as a hotel. If the owners feel that this is not fair they should inform every place that lists their property to advertise it as a Hostel.... Location is good, alright..

A large hotel/hostel right on the corner of Oudezijds Voorburgwal and the Armbrug, one if the most iconic scenes in Amsterdam, also one of the most photographed and painted views in Amsterdam. Right in the heart of historic Amsterdam. Room was clean and modern with all expected facilities. 24 hour reception and bar, secure entry system and snacks.

Watch out with this place, it is a dump! The receptionists are a pair of unflexible, grumpy Khmer Rouge gatekeepers who will not move a finger to help at all. We were a group of 8 people and once we had checked out they wouldn't even let us use the bathroom. By the way, the bathrooms are disgusting too!

Short break with a few of the lads. We weren't after anything too flashy just somewhere to sleep. Not the worst place in the world but probably not for you if you're really fussy. The location is amazing everything u could need in Amsterdam is in walking distance. Ticks all the boxes for those who want a short break on a budget.
