It is a perfect place to stay if visiting Perugia (20min drive from the hotel). it is a real pitty that we stayed only one nigh, since the place is a real genuine castle, well adapted to a excelent hotel (eventhought it is not rated). Service is perfect, restaurants excellent both for dinner or breakfust. Pure luxury with taste, Italian... More

Dear aleksandra s, thanks for the lovely words spent in your review. We are so glad that everything was as you expected! Yes, Castello di Monterone it is a real castle and each intervention has been thought in order to bring some modernity into an ancient mansion, but they have been reduced as much as possible. Thanks for loving its... More

The experience was made special because of the flexibility created by traveling off season and the responsiveness of the front desk staff . The double rooms shown to me were all very small and confining(less than 200 sq feet). However the staff was able to upgrade us to a triple (DRAGO) and it was very comfortable. The room is pictured on... More

Dear Celebrationtiger, I’m really pleased you enjoyed your stay at our castle. We always try to customize our guest’s experience and we ever hope to find the best solution for all their wishes. The Castello is an amazing venue with suberb staff and an excellent chef. We first visited in 2010 and returned for our wedding iin August 2011 and on both occasions the standards and service were superb. We were married in Perugia Town Hall and had our reception at the Castello. I must say Francesco was superb and the staff were... More

We love the Castle. We took a trip in October and fell in love with Italy and the castle. We arrived at the castle late at night. It is up at the top of the moutain. We were very tired and the night manager was very helpful. He ordered us a pizza and drinks since the resurant was closed becasue... More

An enchanting old castle, restored into a hotel, makes the holiday a memorable experience. The breathtaking view of the hills as one eats breakfast in the restaurant relaxes one's mind, body and soul. A hot steam at the turkish bath followed by a dip in the outdoor pool amongst greenery is a great combination. A delightful meal at the Michelin... More

It's a review from my visit from last year, August 2010, (since I am new at Trip-A) This hotel is in one word...WOW!!!. We loved our room, loved the location, loved the castle, the staff was super friendly, everything was A+. We didn't have dinner at their restaurants, only breakfast (which was good and at their terrace...with the view....WOW!) There... More

There are few hotels we actually photograph and blog about to our friends and this is one of them. The staff (especially Luca) were very helpful and informative, the location was convenient for visiting Perugia, the castle grounds well maintained and the castle itself had been renovated to exacting standards with quality and attention to detail evident everywhere. We ate... More

This castle was GORGEOUS!! Exactly what I was looking for when I decided to surprise my husband for our 7th year anniversary. I only wish we had had more time there because unfortunantly I was sick the whole time (completely unrelated to staying at the castle). So I didn't get to enjoy it as much as usual, but the castle... Dear Giorgianni, what a wonderful words for Castello di Monterone! A big "thank you" for praising the castle so much. We would like that people coming to the castle feel exactly like this: surprised, relaxed, pleasured (and ehm... healthy...) . We reserved the hotel for a three days event. The location is great, the castle is beautifully restored, the food is excellent and the care with which we were received is unique. Just outside Perugia, you need a car to go downtown. Rooms nicely appointed, just a little dark. The restaurant Il Postale ok,but nothing specially for the price. Breakfast above Italian standards. If you dont drive stay downtown were all the action is taking place. More
