A restored castle very well maintained, beautiful manicured grounds, an extraordinary view of Perugia and the Umbrian countryside, friendly service and good food. To top that excellent parking and free high speed wifi, what more can one ask. I was sad to leave after two days. I used this hotel as a base to visit nearby towns. Next time I... More

Excellent staff, rooms and food. The owner even came and found us, as our Co-Pilot sat nav failed to find their road (later, we used Google which was fine). The food and wine in the "local cuisine" restaurant is a very high standard and we will return to try their Michelin restaurant.

Beautiful location overlooking Perugia. Tremendous character and views. We had lunch in the restaurant. The personal attention we received was splendid (well, we were the only people there!). But despite that, the restaurant produced the full 'Sensations' menu and wine per course just for us, all at a price that was reasonable for this standard of restaurant. I only wish... More

This is the cutest castle. The view from our room was absolutely fabulous!!! We had a room on the ground floor that opened onto a patio overlooking Umbria. AMAZING! The staff was great as well. The girl at the front desk walked us to our room and immediately offered us Champagne to recognize our honeymoon. The only reason I put... More

Amazing hotel in the medieval castle, totally prepared with for guests with a great attitude to all guests, they need. Every detail during the restoration was carefully made, every room has something special. Views from the restaurant terrace a simply amazing. Strongly recommend for everybody who loves true things, history and the aura of the old times.

We travelled here on our honeymoon in September 2012. We went around Italy for 3 weeks, and stayed in 7 hotels. They were all wonderful but Castello di Monterone was our absolute favourite. This property is so well looked after. Beautiful gardens and surrounds. You feel like you are in the middle of the Umbrian countryside, but you are a... More

We stayed in this castle for our 5th year wedding anniversary as our "special night" while travelling around Italy. This castle was breathtaking. It amazed us how they could have rennovated and modernised the castle so much but kept so much of its original character.
