We were visiting the Archeological sites in Siracusa. This hotel is within walking distance of them all. Parking is free if outside but still gated. Staff was very helpful guiding us to each of the sits.

This is a very good hotel, with well appointed rooms. It is close to the archialogical sites and has great views over the city of Siracusa. The breakfast is excellent and the roof top pool great. The only down-side is that it is the other side of town to Ortigya and the majority of restaurants.

Although you would not book this hotel for its character of history, if you are just needing a clean and comfortable reasonably priced place to stay then the Mecure is a good option. We had problems with our toilet flushing the whole night and the bedroom smelt of stale smoke. The television seemed to be in mono too, although we were not there to watch t.v!!
