The first impression of this hotel was deceptive. After walking through a dingy courtyard, and up some well worn stairs, we emerged into a dull reception area. However, our room on the first floor was large by any standards, and we had a fabulous newly renovated bathroom, which would have put many highter rated hotels to shame. Service was efficient... Stayed for one night in the off season. Room was large and had a nice view of the main street. Bathroom was clean. The place is open 24 hours so no problem staying out late. Check in was simple. Rooms are basic and the price is excellent. No TV but what do you need one for in Venice! Check out... More

Dear Jason R Thank you for your honest comment :) We are happy to receive helpful comments for future guests. Indeed we keep prices as honest as we can considering we are in a very central position. I love your comment on the tv : the spirit of our hotel to keep the Venice atmosphere in your heart and in... More

From the pictures and the reviews I would think that I didn't even stay at the right place. This place was weird and kind of run down, except the shared bathroom which was nice and newer. I had reserved a room with a double bed. I know in Italy that is often 2 twin together...but we had a twin bed... More

Dear Munshado, Like you, I also wonder if you have been in our hotel! You have also put 2 balls (out of 5) only for the vote of the location which being in the center of San Marco, 10 minutes from San Marco square is not an objective vote! As far as the room is concerned, it is true that... More

A nice small venetian albergo in a quiet street but close to a great Campo. You can easily get around with vaporetto nearby or the Academia bridge. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. I have stayed there three times in 1999 the single room was newly restored it needs a brush up again. Overall value... More

I would second all of devourk's comments about San Samuele. We stayed in a smaller room but we were still perfectly comfortable. The room was very clean and well maintained and the staff were extremely helpful and prompt. The hotel is in a great location and manages to retain a quaint Venetian charm without being run down. A good choice... More

The location rocked !!!! we arrived by train and took the no. 2 waterboat to San Samuele. Once we got off the waterboat the B+B was only a min walk. No bridges - so that helped us out perfectly with our big bags. Check in process was very quick and we were given keys to our room number 9 -... More

Rick Steves said this was a "backpacker's dump". I don't think that was a fair evaluation. They do keep the place clean and it is nicely located in Venice. Not a new lavish place by any means, but we needed a clean place to sleep and that's what it is. The staff is friendly and helpful. More

A very nice small hotel, "Venecian style", probably one of the best in this price category in Venice. Clean and cosy, very good location (easily reachable by foot from the main touristic sites and public means). We were a bit afraid what to expect from a 1star hotel, but I guess 1 star was granted due to a small size,... More

My partener and I stay in a double room during August 2011. The room was large, modern and clean. The ensuite was also very modern and clean. The staff were very friendly and spoke good english. No air-conditioning but still comfortable. Make sure you use the plug-in insect repellant provided if you sleep with the window open, the mosquito's are... More

I am a 41 single male, travels usually alone or with one friend and what I desire in a hotel is that it is clean, it functions efficiently and is no nonsense. I just need a place to put my head at night. Central location is also quite important, because if I am in a place, I really am not... More
