A room with a view of the Grand Canal in Venice is something to delight in and this was our experience at this Hotel. The room was generous in size and comfortable with a large bathroom but with some largely inadequate cotton towels. Booked a room with a canal view but shown a room with a garden view, so "upgraded" to the Foscarini suite. It smelled of damp and was cold. Apparently the hotel is not allowed by the city of Venice to switch the heating on until it gets to a certain temperature! On complaining got a fan heater but bathroom smelly... More

Great room overlooking the canal, very clean, quiet and we found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble, great recommendations for dinner. Really enjoyed our stay. More

You must have a suite if you expect an acceptable room and there are silly extra charges such as you must pay for wifi unless you specify it when you make reservation. We didn't experience this anywhere else in Italy. Coffee is excellent though. More
