What a wonderful place! Maria and Andrea are the perfect hosts. Andrea told us that they want to offer to their guests the kind of experience that they would expect. And they succeeded 100%. Lovely decor in the room and bathroom, the breakfast room was bright and cheery and filled with delicious food and good music as well. We appreciated... More

Oh dear, after a week in italy and wonderful places to stay (see Ferrara and Padua) this place was overpriced and intransigent. Clean enough, but definitely a b and b, but when we had to change our plans and leave on the second day the owner insisted we pay for our full reservation. You can't behave like a hotel in... More

We stayed at this delightful bed and breakfast for a couple of nights with a couple of friends. Both our rooms were lovely - stylish and clean with modern spacious bathrooms. The basket of complimentary biscuits and teas was a nice touch. The breakfast was the best we had in two weeks of travelling round Italy - excellent coffee and... More

Warm welcome from Melina and received a bowl of chilled fruit in our room which was in the loft complete with jacuzzi bath. Initial misunderstanding over the a/c settings but eventually brought the room temperature down to a comfortably cool level - Mantua was 32 to 34C during our visit! Large comfortable bed (two 2ft 6inch singles joined) with good... More

Ideal place to stay in Mantova. 5 minutes to station, 5 minutes to the centro storico. Great, quiet location. Beautiful rooms with every detail. Andrea and Maria are great hosts - he directed us to nearby Osteria Leon D'oro which was phenomenal - affordable, delicious, beautifully prepared. We are now looking for reasons to return to Mantova!

Just a few steps from downtown i a classic italian house.Well kept - clean and very warm. Great welcome by Maria - and room with style and to the quiet side of the street. On the... More

This is a wonderful hotel to stay in! Casa del Teatro is located in an old palace, just a walking distance to the center. The room was fantastic - with a spacious bathroom, wooden ceiling, windows on both sides, very comfortable. But the greatest thing about the hotel is Maria who makes you feel at home, or as if you... We received a most unusual welcome - but ultimately it did not matter. We arrived before midday and the staff were very confused, then we got stuck in an unusual lift, where you had to keep your finger on the button. The hosts told us you couldn't hire bikes without a day's notice, but in fact we went down to... More

We had travelled for five weeks through Italy before heading into Mantova and staying in this B&B. This place is BY FAR the BEST accommodation we stayed in eventhough it was one of the most affordable ones we booked. Totally surpassed our expectations! Our room was very clean with lots of space. It actually looked new to me. The room... More
