During the Christmas season there is a Christmas Market, and on New Year’s Eve fireworks are made in the city centre. Udine in the middle of Friuli and lots of interesting places are within easy reach: The World Heritage Sites: Aquileia (Roman town) and Cividale del Friuli (Longobard town), and also San Daniele (famous for its cured ham) Spilimbergo (mosaic works), Venzone (medieval town still surrounded by its original walls), the coasts and the mountainsFriuli is a region with culture, traditions and a language of its own, which have developed over the centuries from all the various peoples that have invaded or settled in this area.
