Great hotel and great location! We enjoyed our stay here and the friendly staff! The rooms were clean and everything was very nice. Very helpful and friendly staff! The breakfast was good although I would have liked a little more variety. The hotel had satellite tv that we could not figure out. Overall it was a great place to stay... More

Booked on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. The room was nice and clean, with a very reasonably priced minibar and good, firm twin beds. The included breakfast was surprisingly good, free wifi worked really well and the location is very handy - close to the railway station as well as many of the major attractions. I'd be... More

My husband, 9 year old daughter, and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. We found that the bed was a bit firm for our liking, but the room had great amenities. Amazingly our room had a small fridge and a stovetop, which we didn't use, but neat nonetheless. The room also had a safe, which is always handy,... More

The hotel is located in the Ancient part of the city, within walking distance of many attractions. It is a classic three-star European hotel with a small lobby and quaint breakfast area. Our room was very small by American standards but it was clean and comfortable. The European breakfast was more than ample with plenty of choices. Use the microwave... More

This hotel was right on target for the money. It was fairly quiet, close to the train station, and had modern amenities and a good shower (important on your first night abroad!). The staff was fine and it was a good base with which to walk the city the next day- close enough to the forum and Colosseum.

Only stayed one night as we were driving to Sorrento the day after arrival. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Termini bus and train station as well as many restaurants. Also walking distance to the Colosseum and the forum. The single room I stayed in was comfortable and clean, but very small and somewhat claustrophobic. Staff was... More

We spent 4 nights at Hotel Sonya at the beginning of May. Hotel Sonya is in a good location and a 10-15 minute walk to the Coloseum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum. The hotel has a quaint elevator, the type that looks like a cage. It can be a wait at times because the elevator will only take 2-3 people. It... More

The desk folks were generally okay, the room was clean and we were only a short walk to several places including the hop-on-hop-off and Termini. Breakfast in the morning was nice with a typical European style breakfast. Two important notes: the lobby of the hotel is on the second floor...steps up with suitcases etc. The lift is functional but small.... More

This is a review of a booking for Hotel Sonya and a "reservation switch" by them to a hotel they just acquired - Hotel Opera Roma. Booked Hotel Sonya and had the taxi drop us off in front and we brought our luggage up the steps into the lobby to check in. Had a lot of luggage since we just... More
