We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the staff was easy to talk to and helpful with recommendations. They printed some etickets for us and were also attentive to keeping all the breakfast foods well-stocked too.

I took my wife to Rome to celebrate our 19th Wedding Anniversary and choose Hotel Selene as our base and as a result we were not disappointed. Don't let the first impression put you off, let's be honest, you don't go to Rome to stay in a hotel do you! Our room (432) was one of the recently refurbished rooms... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights prior and 1 night after our cruise in Rome. For the 3 nights before the cruise, we stayed at a significantly more expensive 4 star hotel. For the 1 night after, we were booked at Selene. Given the cost difference between the two hotels, I did not have high expectations for Selene and... More

Four of us recently stayed here for 3 nights prior to a cruise. The location is convenient and the price is great for Rome. While the initial impression is a bit of a shock due to the construction at the entrance, we all giggled as we took the small elevator one by one with our luggage to the third floor... More

Dear Kristi, thank you very much indeed for posting your detailed review. I am pleased to read that you have enjoyed our brand new "comfort rooms" and our breakfast: our rich buffet was thought in order to give to our guests the right boost to face a day full of sightseeing around the "eternal city". All the staff at Selene... More

Firstly i would like to thank Gabriele for sorting out the mistake, "by Alpha Rooms" with my reservation. Thanks for the tea and your excellent hospitality. The location of the hotel is great, some sights within walking distance, otherwise the metro is just a few minutes walk away. My room was clean and quiet. The variety of the breakfast buffet... More

Due to construction, there was no lobby (most important first impression) and the stairs from the outside were being worked on. Sign on main door said to go up stairs and go to 3rd floor (temporary office set up). Not easy with large suitcases and elevator that fits only 1 person and suitcase when there are 4 of you. We... We stayed 4 nights in Hotel Selena. The room was spacious, but a little dark with only one window facing the innerside of the building. Bathroom was somewhat small but clean. Every morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with more than enough to choose from. The staff was very friendly, they really make you feel welcome.

Having heard many horror stories about hotels in Europe, I wasn't expecting a lot. Hotel Selene definitely exceeded expectation! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and speak excellent English. The room was very quiet and the bathroom was basically brand new and super clean! We were also surprised how quiet the room was, despite being a stones throw away... More

Dear Roonie85, thank you for sharing your experience at Hotel Selene, we appreciate your kind feedback. We are very glad that your "horror stories" about euro hotels were not confirmed! Bad hotels are everywher e in the world, but I must admit hotels in city centre have smaller rooms than standards just because former apartments were turned to hotel accommodations.... More

Selene Roma Hotel was under construction when we arrived. The reception was moved to 3rd floor, so we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs that were under construction to get to the elevator. My husband and I recently were on vacation in Rome.
