This is a very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel, designed attractively and on a human scale, and really well located in a quiet central street. The staff are courteous and not over-deferential. Our Richard Meier suite (free upgrade) had a very comfortable mattress and a sparkling bathroom but note that the water pressure made the bath fill very slowly. The... More

The manager was wonderful and helped us with a problem we had the first night. The rooms are standard size for Rome and the hotel is perfectly located. We highly recommend their roof top restaurant which was our best meal and best view in Rome! Seriously! Improvements: All over Rome people were complaining that the hotels shut off the cooling... The convenient location is a big plus. The hotel is right behind the Piazza Navonna, and this came in very handy during a taxi strike, as many attractions (the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Ara Pacis, San Luigi dei Francesi) are within easy walking distance. Santa Maria della Pace, with its wonderful Raphael frescoes, is next door. There are a number of... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Raphael. We stayed our last night at the end of a 3 week trip around Italy and it was the perfect place to speak that last night. The staff was excellent and the room (a Richard Meier) was so comfortable and chic. I fell in love with Bvlgari au... More

This is our favourite hotel in Rome. The decor is classic italian style, sligthly opulent in a stylish way - unless you prefer the very scandinavianly minimalist Meier-rooms. We don't. The staff is nicer than nice, we especially love Domenico. Lago Febo is a beautiful area to stay. This is so Rome. It's not cheap but it's a wonderful experience! More

Great hotel. nice and clean. Rooms were a bit small but they were ok for two people. Included breakfast is fantastic; it has a very good choice of breads, fiambres, juices and many other delicious things. Hotel decoration is very nice and a bit minimalist. The location of the hotel its great. It is located just a few steps from the... More

A modern Richard Meier room in the lovely Raphael amidst ancient Rome was the perfect celebration for a special occasion. The Richard Meier suite was spacious, beautifully furnished, and made the perfect segue for a visit to Richard Meier's Ara Pacis, now with the extra bonus of a temporary Audrey Hepburn exhibit. (www.arapacis.it/mostre_ed_eventi/mostre/audrey_a_roma/galleria_di_opere/(img)/1). Great holiday for architecture, art, and film... More

The location just off Piazza Navona is very convenient with lots of good restaurants nearby. A comfortable walk to many of the important sights. Our room was quite small but comfortable. The hotel provided bottled water and daily treats. The terrace on the roof was wonderful; we spent every afternoon there enjoying a glass of wine. The restaurant was excellent.... More

The Raphael is an ideally located property, with above average service, and curiously opposing styles of decor. The location, one block away from Piazza Navona is central, but the street itself is quiet and calm. The varying interior styles of the Raphael are interesting, though the differentiation verges on bipolar. The lobby, a mix of sleek modern furniture with ornate... More
