This hostel allows you to book a room for a great price for small groups of friends traveling together. The shared bathrooms and stay rooms are clean. You are right near a metro station and can easily get anywhere in the city (many places are with in walking distance). The only negative thing I could say about the place is... More

Stayed here last summer. Was pretty tough to find as its not located on ground level, so we ended up wandering the street aimlessly till we noticed a sign and buzzed to be let up! Hostel itself is pretty basic. The rooms are old fashioned and quite cramped, but they were clean enough. The toilets and showers are in a... More

I went in the beginning of october 2012 with three of my girlfriends. We had no problem finding the hostel since on our way up to the road, without asking, people directed us towards the hostel. The staff was very helpful and also very friendly with us even when we had a lot of questions to ask. For 13 euros... More

We stayed here in July 2012 and thought this was one of the nicest, cleanest, most affordable hostels on our journey through Europe. We had a large room with a private bathroom, there is free wifi, and clean towels. It is situated in a safe location conveniently close to a lot of Madrid's famous tourist attractions and many restaurants and... More

Four of us were originally staying here for 3 nights but had to change it to 2 nights. We had to go back and forth with the hostel as they kept getting it wrong but eventually we clarified that its 4 people for 2 nights. When we arrived at the hostel they said they had booked 2 people for 3... More

Great hostel, very clean and tidy. I would say it is more like a hotel than a hostel, I stayed in a private room with two friends and we were upgraded to have our own bathroom. Very good location, right in the centre of the city. On arrival we had to transfer to I different building across the road, not... More

Simply put great location, bit dodgy on the reception side of things, new bathroom and smallish but clean room. The hostel is really hard to find when you arrive. The sign out the front is tiny and then if the door is closed you need to buzz them and often they did not answer the buzzer. This happened once at... More

I found Luis Velez on hostelworld and made a reservation. We wanted a cheap room with shared bathroom. The owner tends to overbook the hostel (I found comments sayinb about that) and we heard that there is no room, like we asked for. When we said we were not moving to another place he offered and we didn't want to... More

Students Hostel Luis Velez looks a little sketchy from the outside, but it's fantastic on the inside. The hostel is right near several metro stops, Calle de Atocha, and the Puerta del Sol. In fact, it's so close to Madrid's main sights that we barely used the excellent public transportation system. We stayed in a five bedded room with shared... More

Hostel was more like a hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nIghts and it was fantastic. For 50 euro per night, we had a double bed, ensuite and balcony view of the street. Room was spotless and staff were very friendly in attempts to communicate. Very good hotel, outstanding hostel
