I would stay again. 5 minute walk to Cathedral. Eat at El Jairo on Rua Carretas just below Praza Obradoiro, and select from the menu of the day for about 7.5 Euros for lunch. The food will truly blow you away. It is outstanding homade traditional Spanish and Galician food.

We stayed in Hostal Mapoula for three nights, at the beginning of a tour of eastern Spain and Portugal. The Ryanair bus from the airport terminates at Praza de Galicia, literally 25 metres from the entrance to the hotel, so would be very convenient for those considering a short break in this attractive city.

The hotel Mapoula was clean, central and well priced. However, be aware that you will hear partying and yelling from outside the hotel all night and early hours of the morning. Really hard to get a good night's sleep unless you are a heavy sleeper or wear earmuffs.
