I would stay again. 5 minute walk to Cathedral. Eat at El Jairo on Rua Carretas just below Praza Obradoiro, and select from the menu of the day for about 7.5 Euros for lunch. The food will truly blow you away. It is outstanding homade traditional Spanish and Galician food.

We stayed in Hostal Mapoula for three nights, at the beginning of a tour of eastern Spain and Portugal. The hotel Mapoula was clean, central and well priced. However, be aware that you will hear partying and yelling from outside the hotel all night and early hours of the morning. Really hard to get a good night's sleep unless you are a heavy sleeper or wear earmuffs.
