That's a really 4-star hotel with a lot of positive features, such as a polite, helpful reception, a smart decor and nice breakfast included in the price. The hotel is at a walking distance from both the Guggenheim museum and the old city ( Casco Viejo ). I would rate it as excellent if it wasn't for some drawbacks. We... More

Located between the Guggenheim and the old city centre, the Hesperia Bilbao is in a perfect location for both Guggenheiming and Dining. It is situated at the river Nervión just opposite the bridge designed by Sir Norman Foster. We booked one of the standard rooms and luckily ended up in one of the rooms with coloured windows facing the river... More

Went to Bilbao for 3 days with the family Had a great time .We had a superior room with a coloured glass balcony area and the children a normal room. Both rooms were clean, modern and well appointed with the same facilities but it was worth paying a bit more for the extra space in the superior room and the view... More

Located right by the river, booked a superior room at a reasonable rate, but unfortunately the 5th floor is just not quite high enough to see over the pesky trees to be able to see anything but the very top of the the Guggenhiem. Thats said though, the room was large, the bed very comfortable, and a nice view otherwise... More

My husband and I stayed one night in a superior room. The room was normal in size and very dark. We had the colored window seating area which opened up with a view to the river. We spent the extra few dollars for this room so that we would have the best view and most spacious room . The bed... More

For our first time to Bilbao, we booked Hesperia off the internet and travelled up from Madrid on the train. The hotel was not far from the train station, just an inexpensive taxi ride away. Located just across the road from the river and only 100 metres or so from an impressive footbridge across the river, the hotel was an... More

When I saw the dark interior to the hotel reception followed by our dark gloomy room, I just wanted to leave and go home. Not a great start to out time in Bilbao. In fact we were so fed up with the hotel's interior and awful underground garage facilites,we left three days early and went south to the Rioja region. My husband and me used to joke about 'Beautiful Bilbao' when we visited in 1996 - the city was so run down, the river was really dirty and smelly and despite the great wee bars and restaurants in the old town and the history of the place it really wasn't somewhere we'd planned to go back to. However, what a... More
