Actually 2 different hotels acroos eachother: Sir Astor and Lady Astor. Both extremely well decorated. The rooms are really beautiful and have different themes (Paris, Africa, etc). Excellent start for the famous Christmas markets (15 min. walking); 10 minutes to start of shopping area. Nice rooms and equivalent bathroom. Small but Perfect breakfast with enough choices for a good "German"... More

Very polite and genuine friendly staff. Everything was clean. The breakfast very good with many choices. The interior design warm and classy. For welcome gave me biscuits. I felt very comfortable.Close to central station and only 10 minutes to the city center, on foot. More

This small hotel near the main railway station was my base for a few days on business at the Dusseldorf Messe. Considering the difficulty in getting a room, the unbelievable prices for most hotels during the Messe and the fact that many resort to commuting daily from Cologne I feel I hit the jackpot with this small hotel. Rooms were... More

We initially booked 2 double rooms in 'Sir Astor' for a 2 night stay. Apparantly there was only 1 room available in the Sir Astor so we got the other room in the Lady Astor hotel (just across the street). + Hotel personnel is extremely friendly and helpfull + Breakfast is complete - Hotel only lacks a bar (you can... I've now stayed twice at the Sir Astor, and will no doubt return again. The Ruhrgebiet is a fascinating region, especially if you have an interest in contemporary landscape architecture or modern art, and this hotel is the perfect base to explore it. This Sir & Lady Astor is run with such passion and attention to detail that it would... More

It doesn´t look much from the outside, but this hotel was a nice suprise. The staff at the front desk was great and very helpful. Our room (superior) was nicely decorated and included free WiFi and a excellent breakfast buffet. It was very clean. The only bad thing was that the bathroom was a bit small, and only with a... More

After reading the reviews on this hotel I cancelled my booking with Stage 47 and booked the Sir and Lady Astor. We arrived in Dusseldorf at 11am and went to the hotel, which looked lovely and the lady staff member was very helpful, when asked for directions to certain places. We left our luggage and toured the town. I did... More

Just back from three very relaxing nights at the Sir & Lady Hotel (well the Sir bit - the Lady bit is across the road). I had emailed the hotel a couple of times regarding directions, check in time etc and was generally replied to by Kai - who was also on check-in the morning we arrived. He took our... More

this hotel is a great find- close to the main station and only 10 mins walk from the old town/koningsalle. the staff are friendly, helpful and charming. I would highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to stay in the noisy old town area. the rooms are beautifullyh decorated and the breakfast room is a joy. More
