I booked a Queen bed as on booking form, and was given a French bed shoved against a wall, with one pillow. When I complained I was directed to a computer. Why? I have no idea. For this ordeal I have been billed A$116, outrageous.

Very nice hotel, with confortable bed, good location. Although ski season was over it's a good base for visiting both bavarian castles and Austria city of Salzburg and neighbourhood. Room is clean, reception staff friendly, we were also granted a free pass to several local entertainment facilities.

The staff at the Mercure, Garmisch provided me with a very well appointed , comfortable room. The staff were all courteous and happy to help me out, particularly with directions around the local area. My room was a suite with attached bathroom. The TV had 300 channels ! For a minute I thought I was back in the DDR. The architect of this building must have been schooled in the socialist tradiition.
