The Tannhauser faces the Bismarkplatz at the beginning of the old town. From the pictures on the wall, the Tannhauser was an elegant hotel in 1919. The elegance is gone--it has been cruelly redecorated in ultra modern. That said, it is a perfectly adequate place to stay, large rooms, a very helpful staff--just not our cup of tea.

Pleasantly surprised by the size and layout of the room. Everything was clean and modern, including excellent WiFi access and speed throughout the building. Nice high ceilings. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was great. Good value for money. The only downside was the lack of kettle and tea/coffee in the room and the room did smell a bit smokey. All in all, however, a very enjoyable stay!

Nice well equipped rooms. Style and design are exquisite. If on a business trip, the perfect place to relax after work and in the vicinity of all trendy places. Breakfast is superbe. Friendly owners with a creative mind
