Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is in one of the worst areas of Marseille. There are homeless people in doorways and the area is run down and desolate. The hotel staff are cheerful enough but I think that even they know that they're in a dire area. The hotel itself has no bar or restaurant so you have to venture outside if you want any sustenance. Best thing to do - head directly to the old port where there is a huge array of bars and restaurants. Get a taxi back to the hotel (about €15) or risk getting mugged in the street like I did. The one amusing part about our stay was using the underground car park. Having to fit a car that is 1.84m wide into a lift that is 1.9m wide was fun. The car park is on level minus 5 by the way so you're in for a journey a long way down!

The Hotel was run down and all the carpets were sticky and dirty. They don't have a bar or restaurant and there are none nearby. The area felt unsafe (in fact we were mugged with pepper spray walking from the metro back to the hotel).

The hotel was very clean and the Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The decor is basic but for the price we thought it was great value. The buffet breakfast had a good choice of pastries, meats/cheeses, pancakes and boiled eggs! Its an easy 15 min walk into the old port.

Stayed here for 1 night during rugby World Cup. Room was infested with mosquitoes when we arrived. Swatted 6 of them dead but there was lots more. Spent a week in France bite free. Woke up with 11 bites after staying in this filthy hotel! AVOID!

Terrible hotel, don’t arrive a minimum standard of the quality and services. Poor furniture inside the rooms, small rooms. Terrible state of maintenance, for 3 days one lift out the service I don’t now for what this hotel is inside the Accord Hotels, I travelled abroad for work for 35 years a lot of night sleep in Ibis hotels and accord hotels. This is the worst.

We were warmly welcomed by reception. The hotel is very well located; about a 5-10 walk to shops, eateries and the port. Undercover secure car-parking is available for €15. All this is very positive. However the hotel is very dirty. The carpet on level 4 coming out of the elevator looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in a very long time, if at all. The room itself was ok, but the bathroom needed a good clean.

Horrible experience! The room and the reception have nothing to do with the pictures on the website. The wifi is not working in the room. You can hear everything happening in the corridors so no way to sleep, and the worse part is the horrible cooking smell around 6am in the room!!

It was by far the cheapest double room we could find in the centre of Marseille. The bathroom was very dated. There was no ironing board available. Otherwise clean and in an excellent location, staff were friendly enough.

Easy to get to from the Metro that connects with St Charles station it's a good location. It seems to be on the very line where the quite nice centre ville turns a little edgy. It's easy to walk to all the main sights from here. The room, as any Ibis is, has a basic feel. Very plain and simple but comfortable enough. Aircon thanks goodness. Easy check-in. What I would avoid is the breakfast, unless you love endless sweet things. Nothing but sweet stuff, breads, jam, sugary cereals. And the only tea some silly fruit thing. Lucky I had some proper teabags with me.
