Right near the major train station. Beds are clean and big for a single.. Bathroom is big and clean. Only problem is the kitchen only has one hot plate so only one person can cook at a time. Also beware of muggers at night outside, I have heard a few people have been mugged on the street outside. More

We had a lovely time at Hotel Vertigo; it is very close to the train station and even though the area is quite dingy, we had no problems at all with safety (you have to buzz the door to be able to get in, which made me feel a bit safer) and once you're inside it feels very homely. The... More

A really nice place to stay, the private rooms are of a high standard, (we stayed in two, the more expensive of which had a balcony) the staff are really friendly and helpful, the place is really clean throughout, and the decor is cool. The kitchen could do with an extra hob, but it's clean and well ordered, and there's... More

So long as you can ignore the dingy, dirty, dangerous-looking street this hostel is on, the place itself is well above average when it comes to service and atmosphere. With a large congregation of 18-30 year olds in the common area and a couple of drinks to get you on your way, Vertigo is the ultimate backpackers retreat. I met... More

This is a good hostel to stay in. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms too and there is a kitchen that you can use. I enjoyed my stay here but it wasn't my favorite place. The neighbourhood isn't safe, it's not clean at all and there isn't much to do. I don't recommend staying too long in Marseilles, you will... More

Me and a group of 9 friends, stayed at Vertigo during a 10 day Bmx trip around europe. Vertigo had an awsome atmosphere and the staff where incredibly helpful. On the first day of my stay I cut my leg quite seriously while riding my bike, as a lazy teenager I avoided any medical attention but approached the staff because... More

Vertigo centre had everything we needed for a quick 3 night stay in marseille. We met some great people, the staff gave us directions to the most stunning beach i have ever seen and beds were comfy. Only downside was that the street our room faced was noisy all night and we had to keep the window open to keep... More

First, I wouldn't suggest to even go to Marseille...but if you must...Vertigo is a nice place to stay. The location is literally right across the street from the train station, so that was nice. The staff kind of sucked though. They weren't very helpful. But the rooms were nice! They were pretty big with bunk beds that weren't made for... More

This hostel has nice atmosphere. Staff are nice and helpful. We stayed in Cabana 1, the more expensive one with private toilet and shower. There is some smell when we got in at the first place, but better after we opened the window for awhile. The toilet is big and clean though. My husband feel that there was bugs, but... More

Stayed here for a week for spring break, was really content with everything (clean, nice staff, great breakfast), but my friend and I were both eaten alive by bed bugs, and they followed me home in my suitcase. The other people in our room weren't bitten (as far as we know), but this has turned into a nightmare. I'd steer... More
