Stayed here for 8 days in April and experienced the most beautiful spring. Flowers in the courtyard and vines (wisteria) all came out that week. Pool was too cool to swim in but was lovely to sit beside at the end of the day of sightseeing. Three turtles in the fountain in the courtyard were fun to check out every... More

I stayed at the Arlatan for one night in October 2012. Nice, old and charming building. Spacious room. Central location. First I thought, that the room is without bathroom - but then I mentioned, that the door to it is like a cubicle door. Free WIFI worked well.

We were met on arrival by the friendly voiturier who parked our small car in the hotel garage - not a luxury but absolutely essential as the access is very tight. We wouldn't take a car any larger than a small compact as the access roads are very narrow and you may have difficulty.without a satnav, didn't see any public car... This is a very interesting hotel right in the center of Arles. Very old, historic, with lots of fascinating rooms, courtyards and little nooks and crannies. We enjoyed our stay here in September 2012. Location is very central, and even though Arles itself is small we found enough to enjoy over three days. We would definitely stay at this hotel... More

L'Arlatan is right where you would want to be in Arles, walkable from the bus station but even more easily walkable to the downtown museums, Roman forum, restaurants, shops and market. The staff are friendly, and there are even some ruins beneath the hotel! The hotel is a former enormous mansion, made of stone with no two rooms the same.... More

A wonderful, very ancient building in the oldest part of Arles, so interesting and quirky, we struggled to find our room again on the first occassion. Built around two idyllic courtyards, one with dining facilities and the other with a plunge pool. Good aircon in the room so comfortable despite the great heat. We had booked a parking space but... I stayed here for two nights for what turned into a working vacation. The hotel exudes charm at every term with exposed beams, stonework, courtyards and gardens, and lots of sitting areas. The rooms were comfortable and had a nice atmosphere with high ceilings and exposed beams. As I was working, I always found a great place to set up... More

I have stayed in the original building previously and enjoyed it very much. However, we were given a room in the newer annex and it was very uncomfortable, unattractive, and disappointing. The toilet seat cover was broken, closet and floor were dirty, towels very thin and non-absorbent, and the staff was indifferent. The older rooms were charming...newer room very cheap... More

We booked a room at the hotel d'Arlatan very last minute (the day before) without doing much homework and were very pleased with our choice when we arrived. The hotel is difficult to find and to access by car because the streets are so narrow, but once found it is impressive and ideally located for a pedestrian exploration of Arles.... More

This is a lovely quirky place to stay. Our room was almost a copy of the famous Van Gogh painting of his bedroom in Arles, really nice! The whole building is a dream for anyone interested in history and architecture. The tiny tv was around circa 1980 but you don't go on holiday to watch tv after all. Air con... More
