We had chosen this hotel as it was near to the mediaeval city and it was an excellent location. - 20 mins walk along main road. Ample closed parking at rear of hotel.Very helpful staff. Room was standard layout for etap chain. More

Perfect low-cost room if you're stopping for 1 or 2 nights to explore the amazing castle. The room was more than adequate and very clean. We chose the Etap simply because of price - there were 11 of us 'on tour'. But we were pleasantly surprised at the standards offered. Rooms were functional but very comfortable. This is a new, clean no-nonsense hotel that provided us with a small but adequate room containing a very comfortable bed. It fulfilled our basic needs as travellers at a low price, breakfast included. Shower and toilet sections were separated compartments and sanitary clean. Very easy to find, we stopped of in Carcassonne for two nights on our way home to Spain from England. We arived quite late but found the staff very helpful. A key pad entry system to both our room and secure parking at rear of hotel was a first for us but it worked very well. Would stay here again. More

Good value, good location.Easy to find if you are travelling on the autoroute through France, excellent overnight stop before travelling onto Spain and an afternoon and evening in Carcassonne is just right for seeing the old cite with a nice choice of restaurants.There is a great bakery opposite which opens every day for bread/pastries for the onward journey. A good value hotel only 15 minutes walk from the magnificent la cite, the walled medieval city of Carcasonne. There are closer budget hotels but this offered good value for money (55 euros double august) and the room was perfectly adequate. This was the second Etap I stayed in (first one was in Spain) and I should note that quality level was a bit lower.
