Very Very Nice Campsite. Friendly Staff. Lovely Shady Pitches. Less than 10 minute walk from historic town. Only Problems: Very expensive Internet (4eur for 1 hour) and expensive on-site supermarket. All up though, very nice site

Camping La Cité is extremely well located; just 15 minutes on foot from La Cité de Carcassonne. But I would say this is the only positive thing about it. Went in April with small caravan and appreciate it does rain this time of year. Great location for walking in and out of old city (15min), however..... I am sadened to see that other travellers have also posted reports of robbery whilst staying in a tent. We too were robbed whilst asleep. Stayed there last month and were robbed while sleeping. They cut the tent and stole all the money. Neither Police nor Staff was interested in our problems. If you like your tent, your money and your security - don't stay there! Seems like it was not the first time, that these things happened! Unbelievable.

Clean showers, close to castle but was robbed as we slept along with 8 other parties. Site was no help, police were no help and was told it was not an isolated occurrence, don't go there unless you have a caravan with an Alsatian installed!

I was on a cycling tour of the region and stayed at this site for one night only. The staff are friendly and very helpful and all speak good English. Nice campground. 15mins walk to the town, about 25mins to La Cite. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Internet was available around the reception. Facilities were reasonably clean, but could be better. Would recommend this place.
