Don't expect luxury, room service and all the frills, but for a comfortable and cheap overnight stay, F1 are utterly reliable. Clean, comfortable, TV and free wifi in the room, coin in the slot hot drinks and snacks in the lobby - all you need really and I've never come across better value.

The Hotel Formule 1 at St Malo is located a way out of the centre and not easy to find. Once there it is clean and fine for a one night stay which is what we wanted. Just like all the other cookie cutter F1s but it's fine for a couple of nights which is how long we stayed, on our way to the ferry at Roscoff.
