Staying here reminded me of an old an old Adirondack Inn, not so much rustic as basic, plain and simple accommodations, except it was cleaner than any old Adirondack Lodge. We stayed the end of ski season and it is just a short walk to bus stop or short drive to Shilthorn tram. The owners, Mark and Diane are the... More

I have stayed here twice, once in the summer and once in winter. Both seasons offer spectacular scenery, in summer you have great walks to nearby waterfalls, other towns, and of course the mountains. You have blue clear skies and there is an abundance of mountain flowers. In winter, you are surrounded by frozen waterfalls and lots of snow -... More

We stayed in Alpenhof Bed & Breakfast for 1 night, between 22-23 September 2012, on the special occasion of our family celebration, We were 25 people, including kids, parents and grand-parents of course. The place is absolutely isolated, as it is located at the end of the valley of Lauterbrunnen. The Hotel itself, is a kind of old house, with... More

My wife, 2 kids (8 & 10) and I stayed here for 2 nights in July on our 15 day trip through France, Germany and Switzerland. Situated at the end of the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the Jungfrau region, you fall asleep to the sound of literally dozens of waterfalls coming out of the mountains. You wake up to a hearty... More

I went here for a long weekend to do some hiking in the mountains. The surroundings of the hostel are amazing. It is at the very end of the road leading up in the valley of Lauterbrunnen. The rooms are basic, but gives all that you need after a day in the mountains. The couple that runs the hostel are... More

We were lucky to be the only occupants (besides the hosts). The hosts are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The beautiful surroundings made the stay surreal! The breakfast was excellent. Would love to go back in the skiing season!

This is a lovely old mountain house at the end of the valley at Stechelberg, about 20 minutes on the bus from Lauterbrunnen. It provides basic but very clean and comfortable accommodation. The log burning stoves throughout the house keep it lovely and warm. The owners, Marc & Di are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble for them. They make... More

The Alpenhof in Stechelberg is situated at the end of the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is a wooden house with pine interior walls, so sound travels easily! The owners are English speaking, though fluent in German also. No TV in the house and shared shower / toilet facilities, these are clean and well maintained. A huge kitchen is available to all... My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights on our recent 8 day trip to Switzerland. We would have stayed at this hotel longer but they didn't have a room available for more days. Mark & Diane (owners) are very friendly and extremely helpful. They have a huge, self-service kitchen you are allowed to use to store and/or cook... More

We stayed at the Alpenhof this month while visiting the Lauterbrunnen Valley. For those who want to spend their vacation dollars on the view and surroundings rather than the plush accommodations, this is the place. A bit spartan but comfortable - we stayed in a nice room with two beds and a little balcony as well. The view of the... More
