Stayed for 1 night midweek at a cheap price. Staff were helpful and entrance was very grand. Room however was not. Bed was very clean and comfortable (so main thing ok for us) but other things not so good. Only lamps (one bulb not working and one with a dodgy wiring), stained carpet and curtains, screws sticking out of (badly... More

stayed in a double room at the start of may. room was disgusting, dated, didnt even have a working light in the room so had to use two dull, smelly lamps to light up the room!! after arriving at the hotel and seeing such a grand entrance area, was expecting much more from the rooms!! shower was very dirty and... Do not stay here if you can help it. Its cheap but not particularly cheerful. The whole place has an atmosphere of the chav about it, from the drunks spilling out of Bar Rogue to the threadbare carpet on the stairs. The shower was stone cold and the room stank of cigarettes. But for £25 what do you expect?

Stayed here with friends on a night out in Manchester recently. Yes it was cheap and yes it was in a great location but much was left to be desired! Even if it is cheap you still expect cleanliness, not immaculate but relative cleanliness???? This was the most dirty hotel I have ever stayed in! You honestly could not move... More

My wife booked us into this hotel for 3 days for a gig at the Manchester Arena. for convenience it was good, and the reception staff were helpful and friendly - and that's where it stopped! Although the foyer is acceptable and appears quite grand, in the bar (Comptons) there is a baby grand piano that has seen better days,... More

Stayed here for a hen weekend, didn't book so didnt get to see the rooms or would have avoided. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke, the room was dirty, the customer service was abysmal and the food that we ordered room service for was in edible. To top it... More

I booked an Executive double room (with window ?!?) for £50/night. It says in reception the normal price was £159, really? It is in a great location for the city centre shops and walking distance to Manchester Piccadilly Train station. The outside of the building looks great and used to be the Watts Warehouse. A large, ornate Victorian Grade II... More

Having been sold this hotel on it's amazing lobby things soon went downhill. The room was ok and the position good but the evening meal was quite dreadful, and I mean dreadful, then we were woken at 4 in the morning by singing Manchester United fans. Expecting the breakfast to be better than the previous night, after all a decent... More

I stayed here with a friend on the 7th May for Beyonce concert at Manchester Arena, which was a 10 minute walk or 5 min tram ride so great location for us. We arrived at 2pm for check-in and had to wait about an hour for the room to be cleaned, when we got to the room I found bits... More

The hotel is huge and for £39, we were not sure what to expect but the room had a nice historical feel to it. The hotel had beautiful chandeliers and beautiful stair cases .yes,it could have done with re decorating and the net in the room looked like it needed changing for new net and a few items did not...
