Three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed a weekend at this hotel (5/4-7/4/13). Friendly efficient staff, comfortable rooms (mostly spacious and well-decorated), mostly very good food, grand main public interior spaces/décor, small but welcome pool, handy location for town- just stroll through the garden + great to have a suite with a huge separate sitting room for family gatherings! Short... More

We enjoyed our stay in this grand old hotel befitting of its name, that has seen better days but seems to be reinvigorating itself under a new management group. It's central location is ideal for visiting Harrogate, being just a few minutes walk from the town. Our special deal included a three course meal and bottle of wine on arrival,... More

Our first hurdle was to overcome the difficulties which arose from the lack of parking spaces. It's not the hotels fault but around 5 parking spaces were blocked from other customers double parking. We finally managed to get parked after a few minutes (we got the last spot) and made our way to reception. Booking in was a painless experience... More

Dear Sean C, Thank you for posting your review following your recent stay. I'm very happy that you enjoyed the bedroom allocated and you've realised why we don't have fridges ! In fairness they are becoming less commonplace and certainly few are being used as minibars these days. On the subject of coffee in the room, I understand your comment... More

We have just returned from a lovely two night stay at this hotel. We were staying on bed and breakfast rate which was excellent value and we couldn't fault the quality of the hotel or the service we received during our stay. Whilst the hotel looks a little tired and dated from the outside - inside is a different story.... More

We loved the style of the hotel and the hotel grounds. It was easy walking distance to town AND of course to the famous Betty's Tea Rooms which we frequented often. Although we enjoyed our visit to York we preferred Harrogate and although it was busy due to a long weekend it certainly wasn't as busy as York.

We have just returned after a 2 day stay. We had a lovely time. The hotel is well placed right in the centre of Harrogate so we did not need to use the car. As we were on a special deal I was not expecting a great room, however, the room was spacious and clean all facilities, perhaps a little... More

Having stayed here for just a couple of nights at a conference, I have to say the hotel is worthy of 4 stars, but only just. In its heyday, I suspect the hotel was indeed majestic, but the rooms themselves need updating. Big time. Our room (411) was spacious enough and one of our friends was given a suite which... More

Dear Weasel75, Thank you for your review and glad that you had an enjoyable conference. Our investment plans are always ongoing and the demand s on them are always high. Think the sore eyes and throats may have more to do with the 3am discos than the weather though I know it can get hot on the bedroom floors with... More

The old hotel is full of majestic fittings as its name suggests. The double room we shared was comfortably furnished and large enough to accommodated two newly qualified OAP's . The dining room was well staffed by alert and helpful people and the evening meal was a delight, well presented , fluidly served , hot and delicious. Breakfast again gave... More

We stayed at the Majestic, Harrogate, with friends over a Sunday night in May. The Majestic lives up to its name; it’s very big and the main foyer is impressive. All the rooms, bars, restaurants are on a grand scale. It is an imposing Edwardian building in pleasant grounds close to the town centre and a short walk from everything... More
