Back in Wexford for the famous opera festival. Stayed at the now 4 star ferrycarrig lodge. Delighted with the free wi-fi and flat screen tv in the room. Coffee and lovely home made cake on arrival, a good nights sleep and a lovely irish breakfast made for a very enjoyable visit. More

We arrived late having travelled for 12 hours, only to find no tea or coffee facilities?! The hair dryer did not work. And it is no where near as easy to get in the town centre. Unless you want to walk for an hour! Not suited to people who want to be sociable, and who want to ezperience the hospitality... More

The B & B is beside a busy/noisy road and the sound of the traffic was drowned out occasionally by the trains which passed on the track beside the road. Both of these were outdone by the live band playing in the Hotel nearby (Kids found it difficult to sleep). Don't arrive expecting to sit down to a cuppa either,... More

A group of us from California stayed at Ferrycarrig Lodge for 8 days at the end of June. Margaret, the owner, and her right hand Monica made our stay even more enjoyable with their humor and kindness. We had a car and traveled daily to see everything we could. Ireland is so beautiful. Margaret would give us tips on everything,... More

Thank you for your kind review. Both myself and Monica are delighted that you enjoyed yourselves and only too happy to help. Thank you for your compliments on my brown bread, a recipe from my late mother. I hope you all got back to California safely and hopefully we will see you on this side of the world again. We attempted to stay here for 2 nights, but after sitting in the room with our coats on, with a poorly 1 year old, for 2 hours, we changed our minds and decided to go elsewhere. But she still charged us 100 Euro for the 'pleasure' even though she had no one booked in as we'd only walked in 2... More

Thank you for your comments. I recall your visit which I believe wasn't in January of last year but on Christmas Eve 2009. I remember advising you that the B&B was closed but in light of the fact that your child was poorly and your alternative arrangements with family had fallen through and that it was Christmas Eve I decided... This is a real hidden gem. Having had our crossing from fishguard delayed significantly we were very glad that it was only 30 minutes from the ferry and the welcome was very warm. The room was spacious and pretty. The breakfast was lovely and I would throughly recomend this B&B if you are looking for a relaxing break. More
