Beautiful old house bursting with antiques set in gorgeous gardens. Close to the city centre but also feels so peaceful you could be in the middle of nowhere. The house has amaxing views, comfortable beds with en suite bathrooms. Run by a very friendly family. More

We have stayed with Antoinette and George before and we love the place. The views over Waterford are spectacular and the whole town is but a few minutes walk from Sion House. Within the house their is a stunning collection of many interesting and some rare artefacts, a sort of free museum! The house itself is steeped in history going... More

Very central for Waterford with a good view over the water. This house is a bit cluttered. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was fine. Unfortunately the rooms weren't ready when we arrived at 6.30pm despite having phoned twice to confirm our arrival time - Perhaps the owner had been out all day. We were plonked down in... More

If you like 'things' then Sion Hill is for you. It is steeped in history and much of it is on display as collectors pieces literally all over the house on virtually every space - and you are free to look at it all. We were fascinated. George and Annette are really friendly from the moment they greet you to... More

Sion Hill house is in a great location for Waterford. It over looks the city which is great. Antoinette(owner) was extremely helpful with recommendations for dinner and a great old traditional pub. We enjoyed our time at Sion Hill house. The only thing I didn't like about the house was the cluttered appearance in all the public rooms. Our bedroom... More

I can see some people liking this place, but we didn't unfortunately. Certainly it has several things going for it: nice view over wateford, gardens, historic 17th century house, nice couple running it, good breakfast, price was right. But the inside smelled dusty and was strangely decorated. We wouldn't stay there again, but I looked in their guestbook and clearly... More

Lovely place; fascinating history; one question to the proprietor gave us an hour's answer; a bit tricky to enter the driveway; the view from the hill is stunning, especially with a tall ship in the harbor. More
