This home is the fondest memory of a perfect & memorable trip. This is an historic country house surrounded by spectacular scenery with a beautiful path to Sligo/Drumcliff Bay. Antiques decorated our spacious room which had a sitting area, beautiful fireplace & mantle & ensuite bathroom. This wonderful place was matched by the graciousness & charm of the owners Charles... Four of us stayed 2 nights here, in the main house (rather than the apartments) and it was everything we had hoped for. Faded (in the best possible sense) elegance and a sense both of timelessness and of time having passed. The rooms are not especially luxurious but very spacious, and the beds extremely comfortable. An early morning walk down... More

My wife and I stayed at Ardtarmon House in May 2009 as a special treat. Having looked it up on the web Ardtarmon Manor Farmhouse looked like a real nice, warm and comfortable place to stay. The impression of Ardtarmon on the web page made the Guest House look better than it actually is. It reality, it was far removed... More

Just stayed 2 nights and can only say how lucky we were to have found this lovely olde world style country house.! Its faded charm and easy relaxed atmosphere makes you feel totally at home and Charles and his charming wife Christa go out of their way to look after all their guests in a very personal way. The weekend... More

Stayed here one night in mid-June with no pre-booking--just called and they had a room open. This remote old house is classic 19th century, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. The site is gorgeous--and quiet. Take a walk to the beach, and enjoy the view of the water. Breakfast was classic, and served amid the family antiques in... More

What a charming base from which to explore Yeats country! If you want more than one TV channel then it is not for you. If you want peace , beautiful surroundings and charming hosts, then it probably is. More

I stayed at Ardtarmon with my elderly mother and my dog for easter, and we were blessed with glorious sunshine -- a rarity in Ireland at that time of year! After a warm welcome from Christa and Charles Henry, we stayed in what they called the "garden cottage", a two-bedroomed single-story house backing onto a wonderfully romantic woodland garden, and... Ardtarmon house is a very special house of tremendous charm and grace. It was the perfect place for us to relax in for a few days We particularly liked the small track out from the garden that leads down to Sligo bay - with the most magnificent of views, and walking galore along the seashore. Charles and Christa are tireless... More

We drove up in the early evening and felt like we were entering the Adams Family Home. It was dark and austere. It took forever to find as it is in the middle of nowhere. It's not in Sligo but Ballinful. The host and Hostess were nice, however, the place was filthy, the rugs were dirty and worn, the furniture... More

My husband had spent two very hectic days checking out the sites in Northern Ireland when we drove to Ardtarmon House from Portrush in County Antrim. It was exactly the experience we wanted and needed! The estate is gorgeous and secluded. So quiet and so peaceful. The home has been in the owner's home for well over 150 years and... More
