This was another extremely pleasant surprise during our Irish tour. The B&B is clean, new and attractive in an beautiful rural setting and the owner is a great host. The rooms were very nice with clean and new bathroom fixtures. Breakfast was very good. The surrounding area is extremely interesting with a number of stone circles and neolithic burial sites... Bridget made us feel at home the minute we arrived. Our flight arrived in Shannon at 6:30 a.m. and by the time we arrived at the home of this delightful lady, we were tired and ready for a nap. She immediately made us tea and coffee and provided delicious warm scones. Our big issue was that our Garmin GPS european... More

Desmond Lodge was the last B&B that we stayed at during our trip to Scotland and Ireland(seven in all). Desmond was special because of the owner, Bridget. She is a very welcoming person who truly enjoys people and conversation. She has a beautiful home overlooking Lough Gur- a quiet country setting. Breakfasts were top notch. You will feel at home... Desmond Lodge is a superb B&B. We stayed with our 4 young children and were made to feel extremely welcome from the first minute of our stay until the last. The rooms are a good size and very clean and comfortable. The house overall is lovely. The breakfast was delicious. The area around Lough Gur is also very scenic, historically... More

We stayed one night at Desmond Lodge, unfortunately we couldn't stay longer! Bridget was very welcoming and greeted us with tea and scones, wonderful after a long drive. Our room was lovely and comfortable, overlooking the lake and the breakfast filling and tasty. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend Desmond Lodge. We also recommend Clancy's in Bruff for... More

My fiancee and I stayed with Bridget for two nights in August and we had a lovely time. Bridget is so warm and welcoming that you feel at home right away. There was nothing she wouldn't do to help us out. The B+B is lovely with big rooms and cosy beds. The breakfast was tasty and filling. The surrounding areas... More

My girlfriend and i stayed with Bridget a week and a half ago...i trusted the trip advisor reviews and it paid off (to be honest i don't normally write positive reviews but this deserved one). From start to finish Bridget made us welcome and dropped everything to help us. The view from her house is breathtaking, her rooms are spotless... More
