Old building in need of some refurbishment, but rooms were comfortable and bathrooms were modern. Nice reception area with free wifi. Our room was very cold when we first arrived, but we adjusted the thermostat and it was fine. Had to wait about 5 minutes every time I wanted hot water from shower and there were a lot of noises... on a short overnight stay after a long journey I found the Victoria to be quiet, clean, and relaxing, with a good location in walking distance of many places to hear good music and to enjoy good food. the staff was friendly and helpful with directions and transport connection information too.

The location is good as it is very central but the hotel needs serious work as it is very shabby. Not good for the business traveller as WiFi is only available on the ground floor. Yet again you book for 3 and get towels for 2. Breakfast is poor value as if you take a full irish and you take... More

We stayed one night here. Nice reception area in the hotel and all the staff we encountered were friendly. We were told upon booking that check in was 2pm but arrived at 1:30 to Galway so we decided to leave our bags there anyway and have a drink at the bar however there was no bar and no restaurant open... Just off eyre square and a few minutes walk to shop street this hotel is in a very convenient location. For the hotel itself, The rooms are ok, nothing special or exceptional about them, but in general seemed to be a clean hotel. The bar is also ok which serves nice pub food. The breakfast in the restaurant however was... More

Stayed at this hotel twice once back in 2005 on a supervalu break during easter and the second time in spring 2010 for a friends birthday weekend away in Galway. Back in 2005, I remember the hotel to be very well presented and quite modern however, when I returned in 2010 it had gone down hill and was in need... More

This hotel is located in a a good place as it is a few minutes from Eyre Square which has lots of shopping and food and pubs duh! Me and my partner spent a weekend in this hotel. The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance from a main bus and train station, shopping malls, Eyre Square etc. Our room was in second floor with no proper view but it didn't matter to us. The room was small but clean and comfortable. All hotel staff was very friendly,... More

In an excellent location, very close to the Eyre Square shopping centre, as well as the Bus Eireann terminal, about a two minute walk, and many restaurants and bars nearby... The room was very spacious, we paid for the basic double room which had a large double bed and also a separate single, good sized ensuite, plus the standard TV... More
