My wife and I came to the Royal Marine to celebrate her ill health retirement. Staff are great, good location. Shared my reason for being here - hoping for a free upgrade....so much for those sites that tell you how to get an upgrade. Oh well, we have the sea view from the corridor!!! Very little time for disappointment, as... More

Good selection of TV channels. Free internet connection but you need to have a laptop as there is no wifi in the room. You need to go downstairs to the... More

Well what an experience this was. The location is fantastic as is the style of the hotel. Im a born and bred Dun Laoghaire man so was looking forward to another visit. I was checked in by someone from possibly France. At the bar it was a mixture of Eastern Europeans and at breakfast it was anything from the Orient... More

The interior of the hotel is nice and visually pleasant. The location is right in the centre of Dun Laoghaire. The hotel has a number of bars and restaurants and a swimming pool. My room was very tidy. The only issues I had were that the tv remote control didn't work and the windows didn't have safety locks and expanded... More

a few things really got me going, i.e/ the need to use key card 3 times to access room;key card needed to activate lift going upwards, but insufficient information re same on arrival, giving impression that card always necessary,e.g. for descent also. Majority of cards unable to trigger lift function leading to major frustrations by all guests I encountered during... More

Dear 186602Molly, Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay at the Royal Marine Hotel on Trip Advisor. I was disappointed to read your comments regarding the card access system that caused you frustration upon accessing your room. The card system that we have in place is for the security of all guests which only allows hotel guests... More

Foremost, the beds here are amazing. Prepare to have a really good nights sleep. The breakfast is well above average a good continental selection, delicious pastries. The cooked breakfast is a little on the greasy side. We stayed on a saturday night and had booked a basic room. There were two funstions held in the hotel that night a boxing... More

As the title suggests the hotel is lovely, value for money, not a fancy spot but good seaside location 20mins from the city center. The receptionist was very friendly and professional however the staff in Hardys bar and the staff who served breakfast were really quite appallingly rude. I was embarrassed by the attitude of the staff and an Irish... More

My partner and I stayed at the Royal Marine Hotel in February 2011 for valentines weekend. Hotel itself is lovely. We booked a sea room. Food was lovely and was in a few mins walk from the dart. Dart was easily used and we went into Dublin city centre for the day, and it only cost a few euros. Highly... More
