Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Last year we were supposed to travel to Dublin. Cause of covid-19 we received a voucher that is valid until the day after tomorrow, 15th of April. And of course, with no possibility we get in touch with the accommodation. Contact buttons in the reservation, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses do not work: This number is not available.

I have emailed Amberley House twice this week to ask if the TV usage and WIFI is free. I have had no reply and I am getting worried as I am due to stay there this coming Monday to Wednesday. Either their customer service response is poor or it is closed down. Can any one help with this ?

My friend and I visited Dublin for the Ireland - Denmark game and stayed at Amberley house. The room had clearly recently been refurbished. It had a great coffee machine and the twin beds were comfortable. We would 100% stay here again.

Upon arrival the only parking available was on the street. We parked, paid the meter, then asked the hostess where to long term park. She said on the street would be fine. She gave my husband a printed form to put in the windshield and said this would allow us to park in front of the guest house on the street. I had my doubts but we assumed this was normal procedures. Later that night after dinner we came back to find our rental car had been booted!! To have it removed was 80 euros. The people at the front desk said we should have known not to park on the street and they would take no responsibility. They just said the hostess earlier today didn’t know what she was talking about. The only parking lot was several blocks away and 25 euros a day. So parking to stay at Amberley ended up costing us 130 euros! So mad!!!

Dear MOKelley12, thank you for taking the time to review our property. I am sorry for the misunderstanding with our receptionist, but she was referring to the Qpark zone, for which our guests had discount. We are disappointed the parking experience ruined your entire stay, but we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards.

If you like staying in places where you think kidnap is possible at any minute, then this is the spot for you! Not only do the bug filled lights flicker, and the water runs constantly in the bathroom, but we also got to walk up 5 flights of the smallest stairs ever to get to our room. The rooms in the pics are NOT what we got. We are in basically the attic and the walls are paper thin so you can basically join in on your neighbors convo if it sounds interesting. If I give it my best, I’m almost positive I can starfish and touch all 4 corners of this cell they call a guest room. Since you can only turn on either the bathroom or bedroom light, not both at the same time or neither will work, it’s like a constant game of hide and seek. So bonus, games are included in the cost! Enjoy, and try to survive long enough to write a review.

Dear manraffe, thank you for taking the time to review our property. I am sorry to hear about your disappointment. As the Amberley House is an old Georgian building, the style of the rooms are kept to complement and reflect the house, but we will take your comments on board for the future as we are constantly aiming to improve our standards for our guests. We hope you will visit us again on your next trip to Dublin. Have a lovely day.

We stayed in Apartment 18 and the plumbing was awful. The major issue is the shower which is not a shower but just a mixer tap with a shower attachment and a booster. Had I been on my own I would never have worked out how to use it as it needed to be coaxed into action by keeping the shower head low until the pressure had built up then it could be raised. Managing the temperature via mixer taps isn't easy, so it was always slightly too hot. This isn't really satisfactory and wasted a lot of time each morning. Surely the owners could just install an electric shower - they're not that expensive and the flat isn't that cheap for the quality of it. In addition the when you flushed the toilet it was massively loud and went on forever and the kitchen tap had a constant leak!!
