My first thought on arrival was it looked rather shabby. Not nearly as nice as the photos on the website. We immediately had to ask for one of our rooms to be changed as the one we were assigned to smelt very strongly of damp. The 2nd room was rather gloomy and had a very strong smell of cheap toilet... We arrived at Abbott Lodge looking forward to our 2 night stay in Dublin. We were treating my brother who was over from Australia. He'd never been to Dublin before. We all loved the City but our accommodation was absolutely dreadful. For starters we had to request a move to a different bedroom - room 104 was unfit for human... More

This place is nice for its proximity to everything. Walking distance to 90% of Dublin's cool spots. What it does lack is comfy beds and decent breakfast. Our room 115 had a seriously leaky toilet and a shower noisier than a Boeing 747. But it does serve its purpose in providing a place to sleep.

Stayed 1 night at the Abbott Lodge midweek and I enjoyed my stay. The rooms are not the largest but if all you are looking for is a place to sleep, show and sh....ave this is ideal. The bed was comfortable enough, had TV, kettle, hairdryer in room, shower was actually quite nice, almost as strong as a power shower.... More

We stayed here on a late booking for New Year as there werent much availability anywhere else in Dublin. The rooms are very small and furnished with very old mismatched oddments of furniture. We had a hole in the floorboards which we tried to avoid as it was hidden under the carpet. On entering our room we could hear running... More

Stayed here for 2 nights on 28/10/12 til 30/10/12 with my friend. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable with plenty of room. Price included breakfast which was good. Location was excellent only a 5 minute walk from Temple Bar and the shopping centre. Staff were very friendly and let us check in at 9am rather than after... More

Arrival - you know the staff are friendly enough but the place is not really a hotel. It is at best a guest house and generally is not a place I would stay with a family. It is secure as there is a 24 person on the reception. Rooms - well we were there at a peak weekend so they... More
