Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked this hotel as my partner had to go on work training during the week of both our birthdays. As it wasn't us paying for the stay the price was a big factor in selecting the hotel. But boy, did I expect more! This hotel did not even cover the bare minimum. It was extremely dirty, extremely dated, awful breakfast and nothing in the room was working properly. On top of that it was noisy and smelled really bad. We spent 8 nights there, had 2 rooms booked and nothing of what we experienced would be described as acceptable. The staff didn't seem like they knew what they were doing really but at least they were super nice and polite. My only recommendation is pay a bit more and stay somewhere else!

Fantastic location for luas, bus & shopping district. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was so tasty. Sadly our room was extremely outdated ( 237) especially the bathroom. Not very clean. Extremely basic accommodation.

Party of 4 visited this week as a base for a concert at 3 arena and shopping trip in Dublin. Hotel is not great looking from the outside and first entrance but when you go in it's got a lovely reception, check in was swift and got the keys to our two twin rooms within minutes. On entering the first room we were met with a strong smell from what seemed like kitchen fans. The window was wide open so went over to close it and was faced with a building site and huge piece of noisy machinery, see pic. Second room was fresher. Though had large hole in the wall. After the concert 1st room was cold so followed the instructions and turned on the heater only for my daughter to shout to me in the bathroom that she thought it was on fire. The whole room smelled of burning so due to time and no one being on reception we piled on jumpers and socks and went to sleep. Machinery woke both rooms up early. Shower in room 1 spurted water out of the top of the shower head, not the bit it's supposed to come out and soaked the whole bathroom within a minute of having it on so we were unable to use it. Went down to breakfast which was pretty good and spoke to receptionistwho took my details and said she would get the manager to contact me. Still waiting 4 days later. Have attached honest pictures as the knes on website are very misleading. Also dirty splatters all over the wall next to my daughters bed, I don't even want to know what they were but very noticable and should have been cleaned.

I've stayed in Ripley Court a number of times over the last few years, never got around to reviewing until now.its a good hotel for over night trips right in the centre of Dublin. Less than 10 mins walk from O'CONNELL Bridge. A minute from Luas RED LINE. ideal for concerts in 3Arena etc. Breakfast is good and also very good value. Rooms are clean and spacious.Had a carvery lunch for €9 which and it was delicious. Will stay again.

We arrived at about 10.30 in the morning and I must admit the hotel didn't look very nice from the outside and the surrounding area didn't look good either but when we went inside it was fantastic! The staff were really friendly and said our room would probably be ready at 12.30 although on their website it says checking in was at 2pm. We left our luggage in a secured locked room. We got back about 1.30 and there was a carvery in the dining room. It was only 9 euro each. It was wonderful! We had roast beef and all the trimmings. We were really impressed. We went to the room and it was quite big but cold. We soon got the heater on which worked with the key. We got ready and went out. When we got back again the room was cold. The breakfasts the next morning was fabulous. Cereal, bacon, eggs fried or scrambled, sausage, black pudding, beans, mushrooms, toast, orange juice and tea or coffee. The next night when we went out we left the key in so that the room would be warm when we got back. I would recommend this hotel but would just say all the corridors were cold and when you get cold out all day it's not good.

We managed to get a great offer on the hotel and paid little more than we would have for a double room in a hostal. The hotel was under some work but we never heard anything or were disrupted. The staff were friendly, we left a do not disturb on our door and we were left a bag of clean towels which was very thoughtful. The hotel itself is a bit old and has some wear and tear but for the price you can’t complain. The bathroom was well furnished. There was a desk in the room and still plenty of space. Though we didn’t eat there, the restaurant smelt amazing but closed quite early. We stayed for 2 nights and the situation was perfect, we were maybe a mile and a half from the main touristy areas like temple bar. There were dozens of shops around and souvenir shops. There is a tourist information desk in the entrance with hundreds of flyers for all kinds of great activities. The hotel is next to the airport bus stop when arriving to Dublin. We had a safe in our room and the area was relatively good in terms of safety at night - overall it was an great place to stay.

The carvery is five stars. At €9 a plate it múst be the best value carvery in Dublin. And carvery is an Irish institution. So no better way to indulge in some native gaelic epicurean culture than feasting on a plate of the Ripley Court's carvery. I had corned beef, roast beef and all the veg. Set me up for the afternoon.

Spent 2 nights here to celebrate my wifes' birthday. 10 minute walk to centre of the city so quite convenient. Hotel comfortable with expected amenities. At present (Feb 2020) undergoing renovation works so not looking its' best!! On reflection I should have asked for a quiet room as our room was within 50 meters of a busy rail-line. However, room was very comfortable, breakfast choice and quality was good and the staff pleasant and helpful.

First I would like to say the staff are amazing and my following review is no reflection on them, however, this hotel is very dated, bathroom bath was nightmare to turn on because there was a glass door over bath that would only open outwards therefore it was very difficult to run a bath as this blocked the taps, the room was clean but the "view" was awful. There is a real musty smell from the lobby on floor 1. I would like to mention again how nice the staff were. It's the big fancy hotels that need staff like this!!
