We stayed here again in May 2013. Having stayed many times with a number of different hotel owners we still find it a comfortable and informal hotel. Most of the rooms are small but well cared for and the ones with sea views are the best. Some rooms tend to be noisy, near slamming doors or below creaking floorboards and... More

The food is absolutely amazing here just go!! We just had lunch but it was excellent! The service was not the quickest burn the absolute quality of the food made up for it. The only bad thing is there is only one unisex toilet and one disabled toilet

Many thanks for taking the time to post this review. We are definitely not a ‘fast food’ restaurant, so we’re glad to hear that you found the quality of our freshly prepared food was worth a short wait. We’re also aware that at busy times it’s not ideal to only have two public toilets, and this is certainly something we... More

We were made to feel so welcome. The staff are all very friendly and make your stay a real pleasure. The en-suite rooms are bright and spotlessly clean . There is a lovely sunroom overlooking the Sound of Iona where you can watch the sunset cast a beautiful pink glow over Mull. Or can warm by the open fire in... More

Many thanks for taking the time to post this review following your recent stay with us, and I’m very glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit. I’m sorry that you were a little disappointed by the vegetarian options on our dinner menu – although I hope that the breakfast muffins made up for that in some way! If you... More

A visit to Mull wasn't complete without a trip over to Iona. On a glorious day and following a visit to the Abbey we opted for a bite to eat here. Not disappointed. Not what you'd describe as an 'ordinary' lunch menu I ordered grilled goats cheese with black olives and sun-dried tomatoes on a beer/barley bread sandwich with side... More

The St Columba hotel has been my chosen place to stay on Iona when leading pilgrimages and retreats here. That's if I can't stay with Sister Jean at the nearby House of Prayer which is also gorgeous. This hotel however is wholesome and organic: the staff are well trained and attend to your every need. The food is sumptuous to... More

We went to the Isle of Iona for Easter and St. Columba Hotel was the perfect place to stay. We could walk to everything (which was good, since cars aren't allowed on the isle). The Abbey was just a short, short walk up the road.

Having spent quite a lot of time on Iona I had wanted to stay here for a long while, and mostly I wasn't disappointed. It's a lovely hotel, and very well fitted out in quite a homely style. We were a little disappointed by the staff, who didn't seem to know about 'going the extra mile', especially to help my... More

Visited Iona in July and stayed for a couple of nights at the St Columba Hotel. Our room was very comfortable, we were made so welcome. The dining room looked out over the water....wonderful views.... And the food was first class. Young people served in the dining room and every one of them was charming and helpful. The hotel is... I stayed at St. Columba Hotel with some friends as we traveled through Ireland/Scotland/England to celebrate their destination wedding. The weather, as always, around the Isle of Iona can change quickly, so we were grateful to have ferried to the island on a beautiful clear day (Make sure to consider that you might not make it off the island for... Having just spent a week in this hotel, I recommend it highly. We were with a group on a pilgrimage and we encountered welcoming, fun and accommodating staff and a truly remarkable chef who provided us with a fabulous breakfast each morning (his marmalade is to die for!) and a delicious dinner menu each evening. It was truly a joy... More
