Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After going to Ayr races for 20 years we have only just discovered Dormie House in Prestwick. Dormie House is a beautiful house offering fabulous food with great hosts. Peter & Marilyn are fantastic. They could not be more welcoming or friendly. Peter dropped us off at the racecourse on the Friday even though it was out of his way. I cannot praise Dormie House highly enough.

Loved this B&B tucked in a quiet spot in the centre of Prestwick within walking distance of the sea front and town centre. Also right next to the park if you are travelling with a dog. Hosts friendly and welcoming and you have full use of a separate lounge too with a bar!!!! We had the downstairs king, ideal as we had a dog. It was very roomy and well equipped with a super king sized bed and settee to relax. Great en-suite too. Loved the breakfast, especially the haggis. Thanks Peter and Marilyn

Room Tip: All rooms look good but the downstairs super king most probably best if you have a dog as big.

What a super find. Peter and Marilyn were perfect hosts, the house was sparkling clean and really homely. Location amazing with nothing more than a 10 min walk away Wonderful breakfast. Highlight of each day! Sad that we can’t come back next year and stay here. Happy retirement P and M 😁

Top notch service from Dormie House as usual. This is my 7th time staying there and I have never been disappointed. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, a nice sitting area for an evening beer and superb breakfast. Close to golf courses and center of town.

Me and my husband stay here for a long weekend away and found the place to be very comfort, clean and well equipped. The breakfast was five star and host was very welcoming and informative and knowledgeable of the local area for people who have never visited Prestwick before. B & B is near all good transport link, so we park the car up and enjoyed be able to travel via Train or bus to visit nearby towns. we would definitely stay here again.
