Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just stayed at this hotel for the weekend. I must say the rooms are very good. The staff are excellent. Music in bar excellent. The bed linen was of excellent quality. Check in was very quick. We had e-mailed before hand and this helped.

Through work I had to find accomodation in Ayr and chose the Town Lodge for being near my work and for price. I stayed there for over two years and have to say I probably became one of the family. They couldn't do enough to help make your stay effortless and pleasant. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a short stay or a long stay. It is central to all the shops and entertainment, restaraunts as well. Again thankyou to everyone for making my stay there pleasant and enjoyable.

I have stayed twice with friends for Ayr show and have booked to go back for a third time. The staff are really friendly and helpful - e.g. moving rooms so that friends can stay together, allowing early check in. The rooms have all the basic necessities: comfy bed, clean sheets, lockable doors and a basic bathroom if you book it (otherwise it is just a shower and a shared bathroom). It is no luxury hotel, but for the price you pay you get great service and a decent place to sleep/get ready, all in the centre of Ayr with restaurants and shops nearby, it is well worth your money - we love it!

On arrival I was allocated Room 1. It is terrible and has no windows apart from a large, cracked single glazed skylight. It was so cold I could see my breath. I was told the toilet was across the hall. I was not told the shower was on the first floor! After complaining I was allocated room 14 on the first floor. This room had a shower in the corner and a shared toilet across the hall. The room was warm and clean but basic. there is no reading light, only a dim ceiling light. I got the impression some of the rooms are used to accommodate homeless people. I had a comfortable sleep but would not stay again.

I was booked into this 'hotel' by work. It is rundown and shabby from the outside. I checked in and checked right back out again. The carpets are greasy and my feet stuck to them, the damp smell was awful and the rooms tiny. There is no way I would have stayed here. It was a hostel, nothing more. Awful place! Avoid at all costs!
