We stayed here for 3 nights, it was good but far from perfect. I agree with many points feom the previous review... Maintenance and service was definitely lacking, but the lodge was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The check in was a bit of a kerfuffle to be honest, they are definitely not the most welcoming and not well organised to say the least. For the price, you don't get much in the way of towels, hand soap, kitchen paper or toilet rolls and quite a few things broken in the lodge. However it did have a washing machine, smart TV and dvd player but remotes didn't work, we had to buy batteries and many of the lightbulbs were out. The hot tub lights didn't work, blinds broken, shower head was to big for the bracket, so you can to hold it, etc. On the last day they came to clean the hot tub at 7am before we left, they left the back gate open and our dogs got out, the water was left draining all over the decking so our dogs couldn't get outside on the last morning. And the worst thing probably was that check out is 9am, usually you would get until 9.30 or 10 elsewhere but not here. There was no guest handbook either, no emergency numbers, no fire safety instructions, no map of the park, nothing! Maintenance and service could definitely be improved!

Stayed at Crofthead holiday park for a three night stay in the Fairland junior lodge 2. To start off with the hot tub is advertised online at hoeseasons with a canopy over the top, upon arrival the first thing that I noticed was our hot tub did not have a canopy which was the whole reason we booked at Crofthead as we are in the middle of winter and weather can often be unpredictable. When we called reception to complain we were told all the canopys had to be removed due to high winds over the weekend and they were waiting on new stronger hooks. However we knew this was a lie because in the cabin next door they had their canopy in working order. We were then told that they do not advertise their lodges with canopys over their hot tub, again another lie which you can see from their advertisements in hoeseasons. We asked for permission to put up a tarpaulin so we could actually use our hot tub because with the weather there was no way we could have used it without a cover. We were provided with the measurements so that we could go and buy our own tarpaulin and string and put it up ourselves in the dark. To them discover in the daylight that all the Fairview lodges had canopys and ours was the only one that didn't was extremely disappointing as we had been completely dismissed and were now 20 quid out of pocket for a tarpaulin we should never have had to buy in the first place. We were then told the site manager would be in contact with us but they are currently off site. This was on Friday at 4pm and by Monday check out no one had been in touch. This is terrible customer service, not only is it false advertising, the lack of customer service is honestly astounding. We actually would have went home that evening if it wasn't for the fact it was booked for a family members 25th birthday. Now to move onto the other problems within the lodge. 1: No welcome/information pack you are told to scan the QR code, this didnt work on all four of our phones. 2: Kitchen sink doesn't work properly, doesn't fill the sink and tap doesn't work effectively. 3: Main shower doesn't drain while you are in the shower, resulting in a flood everytime you use it. 4: Master bedroom en suite toilet smells of sewage, it's the first thing you smell when you walk into the toilet. 5: Twin bedroom we found a spiderman toy under the bed so clearly the bedrooms are not being cleaned to even a decent standard. The blind also doesn't work and has to stay permanently down. 6: The general cleaning standard of the lodge is quite poor and it's very clear that it is just getting a quick turn around for the next guests. 7: Hot tub water can't be getting emptied in-between all stays as ours was cloudy before we even got to dip our toes in. Overall considering we paid nearly £500 for a three night stay we were expecting what we paid for which is the complete opposite of what we got. The advertising is completely false, staff require more training on how to effectively deal with complaints instead of just telling lies to try and make you feel better , actually follow up with complaints instead of ignoring them and have a higher standard of cleanliness throughout the lodge. For a weekend that was supposed to be a lovely relaxing weekend away it was so stressful on the first night and it completely spoiled the rest of our time away. We won't be returning and I definitely wouldn't recommend Crofthead to other people.

We visit Ayr every year to see family and we’ve stayed in 3 different holiday parks and this was by far the best and also the lowest price. The location is great for exploring, the staff were all lovely and friendly. We stayed in the Royal Troon accommodation which was pet friendly, it was immaculately clean and had a lovely massive wraparound veranda which was great for our dog. The site is quiet and tranquil, the caravans and lodges are really spaced out and have great views. There’s a lovely kiddy park and crazy golf and great reception area with cafe. The area that tourer caravans used looks lovely and clean too. Can’t wait to come back!

Inside the lodge is lovely. Well laid out and clean however beds were not comfy. We were in lodge Carrick View 4 and I would say DO NOT stay in this lodge. The decking is completely covered by a huge tree so you get no sun, there is bird poo all over the hot tub every morning and acorns from the tree. You can not get a hot tub at night unless you love bats and the morning we were leaving they emptied the hot tub at 7:30 so we couldn’t get in before we left. Unfortunately we won’t be back I paid £1200 so over priced.

From start to finish, crofthead holiday park was amazing. From being so helpful at booking as our previous booking was cancelled the day before our trip (this was with a different holiday park). They were all so understanding and helpful. Once we got to our lodge (carrick view lodge) it was just perfect. It was so homely and warm, then the decking area with hot tub was amazing and had such a beautiful view. The whole place was so peaceful and our wee dogs loved it too. The lodge had everything you would need for 4 people staying there all they ask is you bring your own towels. If i was being hyper critical i woukd say the outdoor seating at the lodge needed either renewing or cushions for it as was a bit to low, but this did not affect our holiday. We will for sure be booking again and have recommended to family and friends already. Thanks again for a great stay. Ross

We stayed in Carrick View Lodge 8. Views were stunning. Have everything you need for a relaxing stay. Beds are very comfortable. Everything is very well maintained. I was amazed at how efficient everything is run. Park is spotless. Family run park. Nothing is ever too much. Always on hand to help. Only 10 minutes drive to Ayr. Love the location. We're already booked to come again next year.
