We have just returned from a wonderful 3 nights stay at bythesea. What a wonderful bed and breakfast. Our welcome as we arrived was warm and friendly and this hospitality continued right throughout our stay. The B&B is a short walk from the town centre, which offers a great choice of bars, pubs and restaurants and is even a shorter... More

Just spent the night in what can only be described as a superb B&B in Ayr. The room was extremely comfortable with little touches that are indicative of a desire to ensure that guests have a pleasurable experience. Breakfast was amazing, there was no need for food before evening. For the price paid, Bythesea was exceptional value for money. More

I grew up by the sea in Wellington, New Zealand and I believe nothing revives you more than a good deep breath of salty sea air in your lungs. By the sea B&B offers this in unlimited quantities, just one street back from the beachfront and you couldn't find a friendlier host than Julie. I stayed in room number 2... More

Stayed in room 2 in the attic. Clean, well equipped but small with a very low angled ceiling. Any one on one side of the bed risks a headache if they sit up ! Also the desk is unusable due to ceiling height and we banged heads on the bathroom door. No mention of this low ceiling on the website.... More

Dear Paul We are so sorry your stay was not to your satisfaction. Unfortunately we didn't find out any of this until you reviewed us. Regarding the sloping ceiling in one of our attic rooms we have never had any previous complaints but thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are disappointed you felt unable to discuss this... More

Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable, well maintained and stylish B&B. Would like to have reason to return to stay again. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and easily a good size if a family room had been needed. Stylish soft furnishings with a real eye for attention to detail. Nice large shower in the ensuite. Generous cooked breakfast... More

We returned from Bythesea this morning and would have liked to stay longer! We booked a three night stay and were very impressed. The family room that we occupied was extremely well appointed and spacious, light and airy with heavy dark curtains which were useful on the bright sunny mornings that we experienced. The bathroom housed a large shower and... More

This is a fantastic place to stay! The room I had was roomy and well decorated and quite comfortable. I was impressed that the room had among other amenities a small electric fan. Though Ayr doesn't usually get warm enough to use one it's good to have in the room. The entire hotel was very clean. The breakfast was cooked... More

This B&B was so lovely. We were in Room 6 on the ground floor, so the easiest of access for late nights (we attended a wedding reception in Alloway during our stay in Ayr) and was spacious enough for the two of us. Tasteful decor, extremely comfortable bed, very very clean, superb power shower and complimentary toiletries (which we didn't... More

Beautifully finished throughout and with comfy beds, this place was a real find. Lovely B&B with a great breakfast - perfect if you're staying close the night before a ferry crossing. We stayed in room 3 - it was comfy, had a good ensuite and was a good size. It was very windy when we were there - bit of... More

We stayed here while attending a wedding nearby. We called the evening before to find out if we could check in early (around noon) and they were happy for us to do that. We stayed in the attic room, which was lovely. The room wasn't huge, but it was beautifully furnished with a really comfy bed with lots of nice... More

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at Bythesea. When guests are attending weddings we do our utmost to ensure they can have early access to their rooms so they can get ready.
