Stopped here for lunch in the Bothy bar today 22.5.13. Very pleasant friendly barman . good food with wide choice. Highlights were the Angus burger, the venison olives, vegetables served al dente and chips which were crispy outside and fluffy inside. The Victorian building and style of furnishing add interest and charm. Will be happy to come back.

We stayed one Saturday night at this hotel and enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming and the reception/lounge area was very comfortable and cosy with a roaring log fire. We booked a "Superior" room and it was a large room with room for the double bed, sofa and two comfy chairs. The view was... More

We stayed for two nights in this hotel and at £83 per night thought it was very overpriced. It has clearly been quite grand in the past but has now crossed the line from faded grandeur into shabby. The public areas are OK but gloomy with threadbare carpet on the stairs and dusty bowls of old pot pourri. Our room... More

If you need a relatively clean place to sleep and bathe, this is for you. The setting's beautiful, the food very good and the hotel lobby and restaurant are nicely furnished. As a side note, they've just opened the Bothy Pub off the regular dining area. The locals and staff are very friendly. Food's good too. Rooms are average, service... More

Stayed here for two nights in May. Lovely character hotel outside Pitlochry in a small village setting. We had a superior room (201) which was lovely but I agree with the previous reviewer in that you can clearly hear the people walking around in the room overhead. The food was good, plenty of it and served in an amazing baronial... More

I really liked this place, it is definitely worth a visit for the character and ambience, yes it's a bit tired, the floorboards creak, the floors slope and the bath has sound effects when you flush the loo but the building has fantastic character as do the slightly dated rooms. The room we had was generously sized with plenty of... More

My husband and I stayed for one night on route to the Western Highlands. When we arrived we were greeted by a helpful member of staff and a roaring fire. Our room was small but had everything we wanted including nice decor and bedding and lot's of teabags (some hotels are a bit mean with their teabags....). The evening meal... More

It's always fascinating to see how different people guage a place. Personally speaking, my husband and I spent a great week up at 'The Atholl Arms' in Blair Atholl last month. We have lost count of the number of times we have stayed there - we keep going back for more :-) because we love the hotel and the staff... More
