We stayed at Acorn House only one night and the accomodations were fine. The breakfast was your typical Scottish breakfast and very good. The only downside was the potpourri or air freshner she has in the lobby. The smell was nice but a little more than my allergies could take.

Spent 2 wonderful nights at Acorn house- the breakfasts were fantastic and hospitality was out of this world. It is central to Inverness and a home from home in which our kids felt at ease. We even got to meet the wee dogs :) We will be returning from Southg Africa soon to enjoy Acorn House

The welcome was a little subdues but everything was fine as the visit went on. Fiona cooks a hearty breakfast ready for a long day out. The room was very well equipped, and the beds gave me the best 3 nights sleep of my holiday.

A house as you can imagine, very cosy, warm welcome, impeccable services, no added supplies needed. No noise wake you, nor Nessie. Thanks Fiona & Dug for your welcome. ------------------------------------------------- Stéphane & Sandrine

After walking 19 miles on the last day of the Great Glen Way this was our last stop and we were not disappointed. We were shown to a lovely spacious room with a 4 poster bed and small settee. There was also a nice guest lounge and garden area for smokers. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated with lovely... More

...I'd have to agree with Forleisureandwork's review. Overflowing with kitsch, chintz, child portraiture and a predilection for dog statues. I'm proud of my kids but I don't force 'em down other folks throats. Room to stretch was at a premium. Shower was cold so had bath instead and the WiFi didn't work. Was also charged £5 more than quoted but,... More

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REVIEW, However as Acorn House is also our home we find that most people who stay in guest houses do so as they like the friendly atmosphere and like to be part of the family and see Scotland at its best and dont want to be a number they like to be treated as people, however... Six of us stayed at the Acorn, for three nights, at the end of March, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dugie and Fiona were great hosts and certainly put thought into the wee touches that shows that they care, ie toiletries, including toothbrush and toothpaste and also a razor. We enjoyed the breakfasts, well cooked and a good selection. The... More

This attractive B&B, situated within a convenient walking distance to the city centre, draws many guests. During our weekend stay, we savored great breakfasts and stayed in a nicely decorated bedroom with wi-fi. This accomodation provided a pleasant base from which to enjoy Inverness and explore the historic sites in the surrounding area.

Surely the owners of this B&B have some serious addiction to tacky things! The place was filled with kitsch statues, paintings, pictures, etc. I could hardly find my knife on the table! Suffocating atmosphere but maybe somebody may like it - it is just TOO many things to make it look nice but it actually looks cheap... The breakfast was... More
