This hotel is in the middle of being upgraded but we were very happy with the level of service from the staff, especially the female receptionist/manager who allowed us to keep our touring bikes in the room. The Royal really gets it right with the way the staff are trained and you feel looked after.

Nice room everything clean and although old furniture it all works. Carpets and beds seem new and they have gone modern with the throws and cushions on the beds I think for the price you could not ask for a better room Friendly staff and they do seem to care. I would stay again.

We had heard that they recently had a major renovation from our tour director, but saw no evidence of it.
