My friends and I spent a few nights at Bill & Lorna's lovely B&B. It's so nice to actually meet local people, learn a bit of Scottish history and politics, all in a warm, welcoming environment. I can't understand why anyone would stay in a sterile, boring hotel. Even the dog Charlie was welcoming! The rooms were comfy, all the... More

Quirky, comfortable, and good value. Not an average B and B it feels like staying in a real home. Good communications prior to booking, and easy to find. It's in a traditional Glasgow tenement block with free street parking outside.

I spent 1 night at 1883 Guesthouse. On arrival I was welcomed by Bill. I was shown to my room a twin at the back of the house. The room is a good size with good decoration and furniture. The bed was very comfortable with good bedding which made for a good nights sleep. Tv with freeview was available with... More

We have stayed in Glasgow many times and we always stay here because Bill and Lorna's hospitality cannot be beaten. This is how all B&Bs should be run - friendly, flexible, comfortable, convenient and fantastic value for money. They have shown us great kindness and their local knowledge is invaluable if you want to experience the real Glasgow. Thank you... More

I had some trouble finding decent affordable accommodation while in central Glasgow. After two disastrous experiences at local hotels I came across 1883 Guesthouse. The rooms are quite large, certainly enough room for two people. I felt quite at home after staying there for more than a week and enjoyed the morning breakfast routine. The warm home made bread makes... More

Bill, Lorna, Nadia, and Charlie the dog made our stay in Glasgow all the more amazing! They were so welcoming, informative, and easy to be around. They greeted us each morning with smiles and a great breakfast of fruit, yogurt, home-made toast, juices, and great coffee. We really enjoyed conversing with each member of this amazing family. Our accommodations were... More

This place was excellent for my purpose (solo traveller on a business trip). I stayed there for two nights in March 2011. It was quiet (outside the city centre by some 2 miles, so walkable for most people), had excellent on-street free parking, was clean, had free Wi-Fi, a very nice breakfast with special home made goods adding a nice...
