It is what it is. Close to the golfing action. Formal style hotel. Choice of bars and eating. Nicely decorated rooms pretty recently refurbished I would guess. Easy access to the links, walking to the new, old and jubilee courses is easy. Nice breakfasts . Would definitely stay here again for golf.

We stayed at the Russacks the first two days in April. I have just a passing interest in golf and do no not play but the scenery around the hotel and St Andrews itself was very pleasant and the walk along the beach bracing. We took our spaniel, Meg with us and despite the plushness of the hotel she was... More

Stayed overnight between rounds on Old Course and Jubilee Course so didn't have time to explore hotel. A bit up and downy to our room overlooking the car park (car park was almost empty during day and is free) but room was fine - a bit cramped between twin beds but in good condition. Dinner in Italian restaurant overlooking 18th... More

Staff very good although our room was a little tired but very clean. Breakfast is great as you can see the old course from the large bay windows what a view. The girl running the breakfast was really professional and so pleasant thanks.if you are staying in the town a good place to be based.

Rusacks is a famous, classic hotel overlooking the 18th of The Old Course. As you would expect, you pay a little more for the location but in my opinion it is worth it. The restaurants are all very nice and I really like the downstairs One Under Pub. The rooms are pretty well appointed, about what you would expect from... More

We regularly travel to St.Andrews. We have a son at University there and we also golf. Our preference, wherever we travel, is always a small hotel. The numerous times we have stayed at the Rusacks have been pleasant. It is quieter than the Fairmont (way to many people for us and not within easy walking distance to town) and the... More

We had a large corner room, overlooking both the Old Course and the main street the hotel is situated on. The only room left at the rate we booked was two single beds, which isn't ideal for a couple, but we were just happy to be there, as my husband was golfing the Old Course. The first night was very... We stayed one night in April. Unfortunately didn't realise the front of the hotel faced the main road, which was extremely busy all the time. Our room was very hot, but couldn't leave The window open due to the noise, we had all the heating off but it was unbearable. We were offered another room, but as we'd had a... More

Our room had great views across the 18th fairway of the Old Course.Apart from breakfast,we didn't use the bar or restaurant at the hotel. The breakfast service was excellent and the full Scottish breakfast delicious.St Andrews doesn't have much to offer if you are not a golfer but enough to keep you interested for a short break. We travelled out to see... Spent one evening at Macdonald Rusacks while my son toured St. Andrews. Had debated between this hotel and the Fairmont but found a better price on Macdonald's and acquiesced. I I should have made a different decision. The hotel is beautifully situated for golfers with the course within walking distance but this is its only advantage from what I can... More
