My boyfriend and I spent a week at Claymore in February and we had such a great time! The bus stop is literally in front of the house, so it was easy to find- it is however central enough to walk to the Princes Street within 30 minutes or so. The whole house is beautifully decorated and we loved our... More

My husband and I stayed for three nights at Claymore in December during our first trip to Edinburgh. We couldn't have been happier with the warm and friendly service we received. The room was spacious and clean with attention to detail, such as soya milk being available for tea and coffee-making. I also liked the fact that only the best... More

Cathy is really helpful, letting us store our luggage so we could walk Edinburgh without it. Princes street is walkable from Claymore but the cheap buses go past the door or to the end of the street to all over the city. It was great to be able to have a real choice of vege food at breakfast and not... More

I would highly recommend the Claymore Guest House. Excellent location with the bus stopping right outside. Lovely room. Lots of personal touches. Great breakfast with lots of choices. All freshly cooked. Very helpful owners with lots of local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble.

This was our first trip to Scotland and we saved the best for last - Edinburgh. The city is fabulous, but our B&B, Claymore Vegetarian Guest House was absolutely perfect for us. Cathy was so accommodating and friendly, the house so splendid and beautiful and breakfasts were incredibly delicious. My only complaint was that we were not there longer! Whenever... More

Claymore is a great find. An easy fifteen minute walk from Princes Street means it is a great location. The fact that the number eleven bus goes from right outside Waverley to the door (literally) makes it even better! The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and at this time of year welcomingly warm! Breakfast was lovely and every food whim... More

There was a very welcoming atmosphere at this pleasant house just off Leith Walk. The room was wonderful- very large with a bay window overlooking the street and it was tastefully furnished. Although we didn’t have an en-suite room the bathroom was just opposite. The breakfast was amazing with a great selection as opposed to the normally limited choice for... More

As I now work in Edinburgh at least once a month it is great to have found somewhere where the owner not only remembers you but also is always helpful an friendly. I can't fault the service and i love the calm atmosphere. Rooms are great, beds comfortable. The range at breakfast is excellent - cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast and... More

We arrived at 9:30 and cathy let us help ourselves to what was still left out on the buffet (breakfast service had already ended) our room was ready so she let us check in early. Multiple kinds of tea are available all day, as was a bowl of fruit. When we over slept our alarm and missed breakfast she brought... More

Lovely bed and breakfast with plenty of character only a short walk into the city centre. Breakfast was beautiful. I had poached eggs, fried potatoes, beans, grilled tomatoes and plenty of cheese and bread. We stayed for 2 nights and I didn't want to leave. The room was so comfortable and the area is really quiet.
