I stayed here for two nights on a weekend break from uni and I loved it, this place was everything a backpackers should be:
location - beside the meadows, close to the city centre... I'd say a 15 minute walk.
safe - main door remained locked throughout the day and only residents could enter with keys provided, quiet at night,...

I stayed there for a week in the double room, and then two days in a four-bed dorm room. The room are simple and clean. The restrooms are always very clean. I especially like the kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious. A very nice place to chat with other travelers. They have two buildings on the...

This place was really nice except for two things: it was far away from the city center and the floors squeaked terribly. The beds were comfortable, the rooms warm, the bathroom clean. We stayed in one of the hostel's apartments down the way from the main hostel and it seemed like we were the only people there at the time....

Myself and my partner spent three nights in this hostel and were generally impressed.
We arrived at the hostel much earlier than check-in time to drop our bags off and check-in later. However, we were told we could check in early but our room would not quite be ready and that it would be finished while we were out. A...

I am a very light sleeper but because this hostel was so quiet I slept really well. The front desk staff were friendly and the hostel is in walking distance to the Royal Mile. My only complaints are that the beds were a bit too short for my 6'1" travelling companion to fit into comfortably and we were never able...

I really liked the athmosphere of Argyle Backpacker's. We spend one night at the hostel and were pleased with everything. Even if we had to share a bathroom it was quite near and caused us no problems. I liked the house, and even if I'm not a great fan of carper floor, it was fine. Self catering kitchen was clean...

A really nice, basic hostel in a great area in Edinburgh. Large, well-equipped kitchens with all mod cons, nice big bedrooms with lockers, a beautiful little garden and pleasant lounge area (with log fire). Friendly staff and great pubs and conveniences nearby. A little far from town but a pleasant walk.

We were looking for a quiet backpacker in Edinburgh and thats exactly what we found at Argyle. They actually have two houses on the same street #14 is where all the dorms are so maybe that was a little noisier but our house #4 was pretty quiet and relaxed. For the price we had a decent sized private double with...

It was okay. Although someone less patient would have been fuming. We had a very early flight in and understandably we couldn't check in, so we wandered around until we could. Exhausted and ready to take a LONG nap I let myself into my room...The bed was unmade and used. There were food wrappers on the floor along with wet...
